Ronda Rousey's Comments Are The Start Of WWE vs. UFC's Ultimate Dream Match
When Ronda Rousey first signed with WWE, she had nothing but praise for an industry she claims to have loved for almost her entire life. Less than a year into her run, the fans had turned on her and in turn, Rousey turned her back on the fans. Another year on from that, a year in which Rousey hasn't wrestled a single match, the former Raw Women's Champion has returned to the spotlight to take some more unwarranted shots at WWE and its fans. The one big question surrounding all this? Does Rousey really mean what she's saying, or is this all one big work?
Rowdy Roddy's Jacket
Considering the glowing remarks Rousey had to say when she first walked through WWE's doors, it's hard to imagine her mind could be changed so drastically in a relatively short amount of time. She would come to ring wearing Roddy Piper's jacket and used the Hall of Famer's moniker both in the ring and in the octagon. For Rousey to say the things she said and to have actually meant them would be incredibly disrespectful to someone she claims to consider one of her heroes.

Rousey's comments did not go unnoticed by some in the WWE locker room. Even her good friend Shayna Baszler had something to say. Baszler didn't slam Rousey for her comments like other people did though, and that's what got us thinking. Amid all this craziness in the world right now, which is rumored to have delayed Rousey's return to WWE, perhaps the makegood, for the time being, is to kickstart an angle.
WWE's Eight Horsewomen
An angle WWE has arguably been building to for years. An eight-person match pitting WWE's four horsewomen against MMA's four horsewomen. Although it has been teased in the past, and all eight women have been under contract with the company for a while now, it might finally have reached a point where all four of the MMA horsewomen are now capable of wrestling a decent match. Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir have been honing their craft in NXT and might finally be ready.

If this match is happening and the build to it has low-key begun, where could it happen? WWE's options are limited right now as if it is going to happen, it is definitely not the kind of match they would want to take place in an empty Performance Center. On the other hand, the longer WWE prolongs the build, the staler it might get. It might also require other angles having to be put on hold. Sasha Banks and Bayley will need to remain friends, and WWE will have to hold off on booking Becky Lynch versus Charlotte Flair for the 500th time.
Despite all this, there is the outside possibility that Rousey really meant what she said. As was proved toward the end of her run in UFC, Rousey doesn't deal well with losing, whether it be matches or fan support. We may be witnessing something akin to the end of her MMA career, just a lot sooner than wrestling fans expected. If so, WWE may have waited too long for its dream match between both groups of horsewomen and what was a small window in which to have that match may have already closed.
