Satnam Singh Debuts On Dynamite As AEW Attempts To Gain Foothold In India
Indian former basketball player Satnam Singh made his AEW debut during the climax of this week's edition of Dynamite.
It all went down at the UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana on Wednesday, April 13. Samoa Joe had just defeated the legendary Minoru Suzuki for the Ring Of Honor World Television Championship in the main event of the show ... but his celebrations were short-lived.
As they promised to do last week, Joe's former ROH colleagues Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt delivered a gift to the new TV Champ in the form of a 7′ 2″ Indian man named Satnam Singh. Lethal, Dutt, and Singh attacked Joe and left him laying on the matt as the show went off the air.

According to the Wrestling Observer, Singh's debut is the star of AEW's efforts to build an audience in Singh's homeland of India. Singh will reportedly be managed by Sonjay Dutt, who developed a fan base in India during his TNA days.
Singh was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks in 2015 as the 52nd overall pick, becoming the first-ever Indian to be drafted to the NBA in the process. Singh was allegedly offered a WWE developmental contract soon after but turned it down as he wanted to focus on basketball.
AEW announced the signing of former Dallas Mavericks center Satnam Singh on Thursday, September 23 -- the day after the company's historic Grand Slam event at New York City's prestigious Arthur Ashe Stadium. Singh reported for duty at The Nightmare Factory.
Only time will tell whether Singh proves to be a good investment, but he's 25-years-old, seven-foot-two, and hails from a nation that contains a lot of people who really like wrestling, so it's safe to assume that he will be.
