Seth Rollins Wins WWE World Heavyweight Championship At Night Of Champions
Today, WWE is holding another Premium Live Event in Saudi Arabia. Night of Champions boasts a "triple main event" comprised of three high-stakes matches. The first is between Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes, the second is between WWE Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn and their challengers, Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa. This match undoubtedly generated the most hype, as it ushered in a new era in WWE programming.
And New WWE World Heavyweight Freakin' Champion
The bout was an even contest between two of the WWE's most dependable workhorses. The entire match felt as though it could go either way, with both men landing considerable offensive attacks and counters.
Momentum shifted considerably in AJ Styles' favor when Seth Rollins tweaked his knee landing on a suicide dive. Styles immediately capitalized and tried to submit Seth with a calf crusher, but the Visionary was able to hang on.
Seth Rollins tried to close the match with his signature stop, but his knee gave out underneath him. It took a lot of grit for Seth to fight through the pain, collect his bearings and finally deliver his finisher to the Phenomenal One. The ref counted to three and Rollins had his arm raised.
After the match, Triple H came to the ring to congratulate the new champion. While the finish was predictable, it is nonetheless deserved by Seth Rollins.
