Star Wars: The 15 Most Empowering Ahsoka Tano Quotes
Ahsoka Tano has come a long way over the years. Here are some of her most empowering quotes.
Unbelievably, when Ahsoka Tano was introduced in the Star Wars universe and to the ever so accepting fandom, she was immensely unpopular, and the poor quality of The Clone Wars movie did nothing to aid that. However, since then, Ahsoka has grown into one of the greatest characters in the whole franchise and one of the most popular.
Between The Clone Wars and Rebels, Ahsoka is consistently phenomenal and truly embodies what it is to be a Jedi without being a Jedi. She is an inspirational character with a plethora of great quotes, and we look at the ten best and most empowering here.
Updated on January 17th, 2021 by Rhys McGinley: For over a decade, Ahsoka Tano has been on one of the best character journeys in all of Star Wars' forty-plus year history, going from an annoying, hated character upon her arrival to one of the most powerful, inspiring, and all-round excellent characters of any gender the franchise has ever seen. Across three different television shows and a movie, as well as a cameo in another movie, Ahsoka has left fans with many memorable quotes that are inspiring, empowering, and highlight just how great she is, far more than can be contained within a ten-entry list.
15 "I Like Firsts. Good Or Bad They're Always Memorable."
Ahsoka Tano's appearance in The Mandalorian marked a long coming debut in live-action for the beloved character as she helps Mando out with understanding Grogu, and what he should do to complete his mission.
This little quote is a very Ahsoka. Ever willing to take risks, to fight for whats right, this quote is such a perfect line for Ahsoka, it also sums up her whole journey, starting off as a character fans hated, to now one of the greatest characters Star Wars has ever seen.
14 "Wait! Just Because There Hasn't Been Any Survivor's Before, Doesn't Mean There Won't Be Any This Time."
This quote from Ahsoka comes in early season one of The Clone Wars, the episode "Rising Malevolence," and is about Plo Koon whose ship has been attacked by Separatists, with little chance of survival.
This quote from Ahsoka shows not only her care for Plo Koon, but also her fearlessness, her willingness to go the extra mile to help those who need it. When the council tells Anakin and Ahsoka not to look for survivors, Ahsoka firmly stands by her friend and is adamant that there is a chance he has survived. Alas, she was right.
13 "You Don't Have To Carry A Sword To Be Powerful. Some Leaders' Strength Is Inspiring Others."
In the arc that followed the civil war on Mon Cala in season four of The Clone Wars, the leader of the planet, Lee-Char, is very inexperienced as a ruler and a warrior.
In typical Ahsoka fashion, she reassures Lee-Char that being a leader, and being a fighter is not just about being a skilled warrior, but also by inspiring your people. Inspiration at its finest from Ahsoka.
12 "They Already Suffer Under Your Rule. Surrender Or Face The Consequences. You Have One Day To Decide."
Going back to Ahsoka's appearance in season two of The Mandalorian, her episode "Chapter 13 - The Jedi" kicks off in great fashion as we see Ahsoka cut down enemies in a forest before approaching who appears to be a dictating leader of a town.
This quote is not only complete badassery from Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) but just reminds fans about what Ahsoka is all about, helping people, being there to save those who need it, to be a hero, not a Jedi.
11 "You Don't Have To Look Tough To Be Tough."
In the same vein, in the episode "Bounty Hunters," Ahsoka gives some inspirational advice to Seripas, a bounty hunter, after being revealed to be a small alien, not a huge intimidating droid like figure.
Ahsoka is a prime example that looks are not everything. She does not appear too intimidating, but she could beat 99% of the Galaxy in combat.
10 "You'll Find I Have Many Qualities For You To Dislike."
The Siege of Mandalore arc is perfection, a Star Wars story that surpasses many of the movies in quality, never mind episodes of the shows. As per usual, Ahsoka shines throughout.
In her epic duel with Maul she says this quote in response to Maul commenting on her Obi-Wan-esque arrogance. Not only is Ahsoka not doubting the traits she shares with Kenobi, she is proud that she has learned from him and Anakin, and most definitely does share a lot of the qualities that makes her former Master so loved.
9 "If There's One Thing I've Learned From You, Master, It's That Following Direct Orders Isn't Always The Best Way To Solve A Problem."
In the fantastically done Citadel arc, Ahsoka comes along on the mission, despite getting specific instructions not too very Anakin like.
When Anakin gets angry with Ahsoka, she decides to throw his teachings back at him, and in the end, Ahsoka got shown to be correct in coming along as she was crucial to the survival of the group.
8 "I Won't Leave You, Not This Time."
For Ahsoka Tano fans, Anakin Skywalker fans, Clone Wars and prequel fans who loved Star Wars: Rebels, there are few things in Star Wars more heartbreaking than the meeting between Ahsoka and Vader at the end of season two.
This quote from Ahsoka to Anakin, who is now gone, is so painful. She loves her former Master, her big brother, her friend, and he is gone, corrupted by evil, and she still will not leave him. The "not this time" is just salt in the wound as it takes fans back to that day when Ahsoka left the Jedi Council.
7 "In My Experience, When You Think You Understand The Force, You Realize Just How Little You Know."
The "World Between Worlds" was one of the most bizarre yet genius and brilliant episodes of Rebels, and parts of Star Wars in general and saw the return of Ahsoka and confirmation that she lives.
Her admission of the Force being infinitely mysterious no matter how much you know about it shows her wisdom, and how far she has come in her understanding of it, appreciating its intricacies.
6 "I Did Realize Something. The Politics Of War Are Not As Black And White As I Once Thought They Were."
Ahsoka, alongside Anakin, does not conform to the traditions of the Jedi Order in the same way as everybody else. If she is presented with information telling her that something is different from what she believes, then she will not let her pride get in the way and be stubborn like other Jedi (cough, Mace Windu, cough).
When she is shown that there are real, good people on both sides of the war, she believes it. She understands that, while people are getting manipulated or lied to, they are real people with beliefs.
5 "The Republic Couldn't Have Asked For Better Soldiers, Nor I A Better Friend."
There is a somber, eery atmosphere in the episode "Shattered" as fans foresee Order 66 coming, and before that, Ahsoka and Rex have a moment that is very touching.
Ahsoka and Anakin, more than anyone, than perhaps Plo Koon or Obi-Wan has a close relationship with the clones, and Ahsoka and Rex have one of the best friendships in Star Wars. This moment of appreciation from Ahsoka is very welcome.
4 "You're A Good Soldier Rex. So Is Every One Of Those Men Down There. They May Be Willing To Die, But I Am Not Going To Be The One Who Kills Them."
In the finale, Jesse and the rest of the clones on the cruiser wait for Ahsoka and Rex, ready to kill them both. But, like a true Jedi, yet unlike the other Jedi during Order 66, Ahsoka refuses to kill them.
She gets Rex to set his blasters to stun, and never cuts any with her saber, knocking them out with the Force instead. When Rex pleads with her, in tears, that his brothers will kill them, Ahsoka still remains calm, refusing to kill the clones she loves, knowing they are not themselves. A true testament to Ahsoka's personality.
3 "Maybe, But I Have To Sort This Out On My Own, Without The Council, And Without You."
Ahsoka choosing to leave the Jedi Order was both heartbreaking and an unbelievably strong move from Ahsoka. Seeing her leave Anakin behind, with Anakin being the only one to be on her side during her trial, was truly devastating.
Ahsoka tells Anakin she must go her own way and carve her path outside of the Jedi Order. It truly is empowering by Ahsoka, knowing that she needs to stick with her beliefs and what she has experienced, and go into a new world, and a new chapter in her life, even if it is the hard thing to do.
2 "Then I Will Avenge His Death."
The relationship between Anakin and Ahsoka is unlike any other master/apprentice relationship, with such love and closeness between them and a key attribute missing from other Jedi, emotion.
When they meet in Rebels when neither are Jedi and are no longer master and apprentice, it is one of the greatest moments in all of Star Wars, and Ahsoka's care for Anakin shines through with "Then I will avenge his death."
1 "I Am No Jedi."
Of course, that is not the greatest quote from their iconic exchange in "Twilight of the Apprentice" as directly after this Vader less her know vengeance is not the Jedi way, the famous reply then comes "I am no Jedi."
It is truly a chilling moment, with Ahsoka pulling out the white lightsabers and the battle about to take place. It truly encapsulates Ahsoka's journey. She has no interest in being a Jedi; she understands their flaws and is not where she belongs, she belongs on her own path, and that is very much a good thing.
