With such an impressive career under his belt, Kyle has had a plethora of highly praised matches by any who have watched. Still, there are only a number of matches that can stand out as being the best.
10 Kyle O'Reilly vs KUSHIDA (New Japan Best Of The Super Junior 2016) - 9.09
Prior to joining WWE NXT, KUSHIDA was a staple of New Japan's Junior Heavyweight Division, being positioned as the figurehead of the entire division, which would ultimately lead to his departure from the company. Before that however, KUSHIDA would regularly deliver show-stealing performances with his technical ability.
In a match from the 2016 edition of New Japan's Best of the Super Junior tournament, KUSHIDA would face off against a long-time rival in the form of Kyle O'Reilly. While this would not be the best singles match between the two men, it serves as a solid entry point into their history.
9 Adam Cole, Matt Taven, & reDRagon vs Caprice Coleman, Cedric Alexander, Jay Lethal, & Michael Elgin (ROH Glory By Honor XII) - 9.09
Four years before debuting inside the Barclays Center at NXT Takeover Brooklyn, Kyle O'Reilly, Adam Cole, and Bobby Fish, the original Undisputed Era lineup, would all be featured players within Ring of Honor, with Kyle being a tag partner for both Cole and Fish on separate occasions. At the Glory By Honor event in 2013, the three men would team together, as well as with Matt Taven, to take on a super-team of ROH talent.
In an overly fun 8-man Elimination Match, the future Undisputed Era + Matt Taven would fall in defeat, in a match that went 73 minutes long, featuring in the main event slot of the show.
8 Kyle O'Reilly vs Roderick Strong (PWG Black Cole Sun) - 9.13
After going down with an injury, Bobby Fish's spot in Undisputed Era would eventually be filled, after a shocking heel turn saw Roderick Strong align with O'Reilly and Cole during NXT Takeover New Orleans. Years before that, Kyle and Roddy would face off at the Black Cole Sun event ran by Pro Wrestling Guerilla.
After a defending his PWG World Championship against Ricochet in the main event, Kyle O'Reilly would be attacked and challenged by Roderick Strong to a second title defense for the night. Strong would score the win, stealing the title from O'Reilly in a surprise match that saw Kyle deliver back-to-back.
7 Undisputed Era vs Moustache Mountain (NXT 6/21/18) - 9.19
During the early days of WWE's entrance into the British wrestling scene, one of the highlights was the arrivals of Tyler Bate, Pete Dunne, and Trent Seven. During a battle on NXT Television, Moustache Mountain, the reigning NXT Tag Team Champions, would put their titles on the line against the duo of Roderick Strong and Kyle O'Reilly.
The match would be another showcase for this series of matches between the two teams, but it would be O'Reilly and Strong coming out victorious after Tyler Bate threw in the towel on behalf of his partner.
6 Kyle O'Reilly vs Finn Balor (NXT Takeover 31) - 9.21
Despite never becoming a singles champion during his time in WWE NXT, Kyle O'Reilly's most beloved match according to Cagematch.net, would be his NXT Championship battle against Finn Balor at NXT Takeover 31.

With Balor having returned to NXT after some time on the main roster, becoming NXT Champion once more in the process, this match would highlight all the reasons that the NXT fans got behind Balor as a future WWE Main Event talent in the first place. It would also serve as another mark in Kyle O'Reilly's best matches.
5 Kyle O'Reilly vs ACH (PWG Battle Of Los Angeles 2013) - 9.24
While his time in NXT as Jordan Myles would not last too long, ACH was one of the hottest stars on the independent scene during the 2010s. With both he and O'Reilly being facets of the Ring of Honor Roster around this time, they were actively raising their stocks during this period.
The two men would face off during the 2013 Battle Of Los Angeles tournament for PWG in a match that blew fans away. This match now serves as a reminder for what ACH could have done in NXT without any roadblocks or issues, as well as being another outstanding singles bout for Kyle.
4 Kyle O'Reilly vs Zack Sabre Jr. (PWG Battle Of Los Angeles 2014) - 9.34
Zack Sabre Jr. consistently finds himself being talked about as not only one of the best living professional wrestlers, but as one of the most technically gifted, alongside Bryan Danielson. In another match from PWG's legendary Battle of Los Angeles event series, ZSJ would face off against KOR in a battle of technical ability and striking prowess.
For fans of both men, this is a must-see match, as it comes from 2014, before either man would reach the greatness levels that both are still working at today, in New Japan and AEW respectively.
3 Adam Cole & Kyle O'Reilly vs Zack Sabre Jr. & Marty Scurll (wXw Carat Gold 2011) - 9.35
The earliest match featured in the upper echelon of Kyle O'Reilly's Cagematch.net rankings, this tag team match would see Kyle team up with long-standing ally and rival, Adam Cole, against another pair of sometimes friends, sometimes enemies, in the form of Zack Sabre Jr. & Marty Scurll.
While the match is not the most accessible for some, featuring at the wXw Carat Gold 2011 event in Germany, it is worth seeking out, as the match is a showcase for Cole & O'Reilly during their earlier years, with it being so praised years before their arrivals in NXT or AEW.
2 Future Shock vs Young Bucks vs Super Smash Bros (PWG Threemendous III) - 9.45
With PWG being such a breeding ground for high-profile match ups for teams on the independent scene, this match from the summer of 2012 would end up serving as a spotlight on the future of Tag Team Wrestling in North America, with the future Undisputed Era and Dark Order, as well as the Young Bucks, all facing off in a three-way match at PWG Threemendous III.
