The 9 Best All-Female Wrestling Groups, Ranked

Whether it be as managers, valets, or in-ring competitors, women have always had a place in professional wrestling, but as the Netflix series GLOW pointed out, women in the industry were not always taken seriously. Times change though, which is why more and more women are now lacing up a pair of boots and competing in the ring in front of thousands of people.

Most women go the singles route, but like their male counterparts, they sometimes team up with other members of their division, and some of these team-ups result in the formation of a group/stable. WWE, Impact Wrestling, NWA, and various other promotions have given wrestling fans a variety of all-female groups, but there are some groups who were far more successful and influential than others.

9 The Dollhouse

The Dollhouse made its TNA debut in April of 2015, and it consisted of Rebel, Jade, and Marti Bell. This group of heels was originally led by Taryn Terrell, and they went on to dominate the Women's Division for a short time until Taryn decided to leave the company a year later.

Former Knockouts Champion, Awesome Kong took over the group for a short time before getting released, and that proved to be the final nail in the coffin for the trio because they shortly turned on each other when they participated in a triple threat match to determine the new #1 contender for the singles title.

8 TnT

Tara & Brooke As Knockout Tag Team Champions

Victoria had a successful run in WWE, but she had far more success when she joined TNA-where she went by the name Tara, and where she became a six-time Knockouts Champion. She also managed to capture the Knockouts Tag Team Titles with Brooke Tessmacher.

They called themselves TnT, and they won their titles shortly after their 2011 debut. When they lost the tag titles a few months later, they both tried to capture the Knockouts Championship. Tessmarcher won singles gold twice during their time together, but they ended up disbanding after Tara turned on her.

7 Pretty Mean Sisters

Jacqueline, Terri Runnels, & Ryan Shamrock As P.M.S.

As the WWE was entering the Attitude Era in the late 90s, the promotion did its best to use as many "offensive" puns as possible, which is why the all-female group known as Pretty Mean Sisters was relegated to the initials, P.M.S.

The group consisted of Terri Runnels, Jacqueline, and Ryan Shamrock, and it came into existence after Jacqueline separated from Marc Mero and Terri separated from Goldust. The group may have never won any titles, but they did provide fans with a good amount of entertainment until they disbanded in 1999. They eventually added a male love-slave known as Meat, which added even more to the comedic effect. However, he was more of a subordinate lackey than an actual member of the group.

6 The Divas of Doom

Beth Phoenix is a WWE Hall of Famer, and her good friend Natalya, who currently holds the promotion's all-time record for wins by a female wrestler, will eventually join her.

After feuding with Layla and Michelle McCool, the duo decided to become heels and call themselves The Divas of Doom, and their mission was to destroy every "model" within the division. Paige gets a lot of credit for starting the Women's Evolution as The Anti-Diva, but it was the Divas of Doom who first sought to put an end to the term "Diva".

5 The Jumping Bomb Angels

Japan has produced its fair share of talented wrestlers over the years, but two people who do not get nearly enough credit are Noriyo Tateno and Itsuki Yamazaki who together formed the Jumping Bomb Angels.

The pair made their debut in 1981, and what makes them stand out is the fact that they were one of the first teams in the world to compete in matching gear, but they were also one of the first teams to execute tandem and high-flying moves. They also won tag team gold in Japan and WWE (way back when it was still called the WWF).

4 The Glamour Girls

1985 saw the debut of The Glamour Girls who went on to become the top heels in women's tag team wrestling for several years. The team was made up of Leilani Kai and Judy Martin-both of whom were graduates of The Fabulous Moolah's wrestling school.

They were one of the top teams in NWA, and their success continued when they returned to the WWE in 1987, as they were partnered with the legendary Jimmy Hart and went on to become two-time Women's Tag Team Champions before disbanding in 1992.

3 The Beautiful People

Angelina Love, Velvet Sky, & Madison Rayne Shooting A Promo On TNA

Angelina Love, Madison Rayne, and Velvet Sky are three of the biggest names in the Knockouts Division, so it is not surprising that they formed the greatest women's team in TNA history.

They called themselves The Beautiful People, and they spent most of their time as vain and narcissistic heels who decimated every "ugly" woman in the division.  As a group, they won the Knockouts Tag Team titles twice, but Love and Rayne also went on to win the Knockouts Championship a combined six times while with the group, with Love holding four reigns and Rayne holding two. The group would briefly let in Lacey Von Erich and Cute Kip who is known as Billy Gunn in WWE. However, for much of the group's existence, it was exclusively female.

2 The Bella Twins

When WWE introduced the Women's Tag Team Championship in 2018, many fans expected The Bella Twins to win the titles before retiring, but injuries completely ruined those plans. Nikki and Brie debuted in 2007, and although they spent some time apart during their respective solo runs, they spent the majority of their careers' in each other's corner.

The Bellas may get a lot of hate, but Nikki and Brie did a pretty good job as a tag team, and their teamwork also heavily contributed to their singles' success, with Brie holding one reign with Divas Championship and Nikki holding two.

1 LayCool

WWE took way too long to introduce the Women's Tag Titles because there is one former team that truly deserved to have a run as champions: LayCool. Younger fans have no idea that this team even existed, and that's a shame because Michelle McCool and Layla worked extremely well together.

The duo played narcissistic bullies who made fun of all the other women, and they each had a run as Divas Champion during their partnership. Unfortunately, they split up in 2011 and ended up feuding with each other until Layla beat Michelle in a Loser Leaves WWE Match.
