Adam Cole is an amazing worker, a very charismatic guy and an extraordinary in-ring talent. Some think his AEW run has been lackluster, but he has come close to winning the World Championship and has delivered great matches, just as he has over the past 10 years.

The 32-year-old Panama City superstar has worked for several promotions throughout his career, most notably ROH, WWE and AEW, and everywhere he goes he delivers great matches on a regular basis. Without further ado, let's take a look at the best Adam Cole match every year for the past 10 years.

10 2021: Vs. Kyle O'Reilly (NXT - The Great American Bash)

The main event of NXT's The Great American Bash featured a rematch between Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly following their bout at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver.

It was a back-and-forth bout, with amazing in-ring psychology and brilliant storytelling. Both Cole and O'Reilly gave it their all to win the bout, and both deserved the victory, but in the end Adam Cole was the one who prevailed. Overall, it was an epic battle between two incredible wrestlers.

9 2020: Vs. Imperium (Worlds Collide 2020)

In 2020, Adam Cole had great matches against Finn Balor, Tommaso Ciampa and Keith Lee, but the best match he was involved in was at Worlds Collide 2020. Cole and his fellow Undisputed Era partners Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong faced off against Imperium (Alexander Wolfe, Fabian Aichner, Marcel Barthel and WALTER).

Adam Cole certainly wasn’t the MVP, but he played his part to perfection and helped make this match phenomenal. This was one of the best multi-man tag matches in WWE in recent years.

8 2019: Vs. Johnny Gargano (NXT TakeOver: New York)

This was one of the best years of Adam Cole's career, as he had several amazing matches, including an unforgettable trilogy against Johnny Gargano. All three matches were fantastic, but perhaps the best was the first one, at NXT TakeOver: New York, where Cole and Gargano collided in a Best Two-Out-Of-Three Falls match for the NXT Title.

Cole and Gargano told a beautiful story, both did perfect character work and the in-ring action was awesome as well. Adam Cole dominated the match and came close to becoming the champion about a dozen times, but Johnny Gargano made an incredible comeback and managed to win the match in epic fashion.

7 2018: Vs. EC3 Vs. Killian Dain Vs. Lars Sullivan Vs. Ricochet Vs. Velveteen Dream (NXT TakeOver: New Orleans)

This was a Ladder match for the NXT North American Title. Even before the match began, the atmosphere was amazing, the crowd was absolutely invested. Every man involved did an outstanding job here, everyone had their moment to shine and everyone put body and soul to make the North American Title feel important.

Ricochet was the MVP with his insane stunts, as he was born for this kind of matches, but Adam Cole was on fire as well, and he claimed the huge win. This was an unforgettable spot fest, probably the best ladder match in NXT history.

6 2017: Vs. SAnitY Vs. The Authors Of Pain & Roderick Strong (NXT TakeOver: WarGames)

In the main event of NXT TakeOver: WarGames, Adam Cole, Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly faced off against SAnitY (Alexander Wolfe, Eric Young and Killian Dain) and The Authors Of Pain (Akam and Rezar) and Roderick Strong in a Triple Threat WarGames match.

This was an insane, absolutely chaotic battle, with punches, kicks and high-risk moves all over the place, it was non-stop action for over half an hour. In the end, The Undisputed ERA emerged victorious.

5 2016: Vs. Matt Sydal, Ricochet & Will Ospreay (PWG Battle Of Los Angeles 2016)

In 2016, Adam Cole wasn't half as popular as he is today, but he was already making his way to the top of the independent circuit. On September 3, 2016, Adam Cole teamed up with Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson to take on Matt Sydal, Ricochet and Will Ospreay.

This bout was a masterpiece, there is no better description. The moves and sequences were executed to perfection, the match felt fluid from start to finish and the storytelling was sublime.

4 2015: Vs. Kyle O'Reilly (ROH Final Battle 2015)

It's no secret that Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly have a long story together, and in 2015 they already had extraordinary chemistry. They delivered an excellent match at ROH Final Battle 2015, with terrific in-ring action and a palpable hatred between them.

It seemed like Cole and O'Reilly really wanted to annihilate each other. In the end, Adam Cole managed to defeat Kyle O'Reilly, but even after the match, the latter kept attacking Cole mercilessly.

3 2014: Vs. Zack Sabre Jr. (PWG Battle Of Los Angeles 2014)

In 2014, Adam Cole had great matches against the likes of Jay Briscoe, Kevin Steen, Kyle O'Reilly, Jushin Thunder Liger and AJ Styles, but Cole's best match was against Zack Sabre Jr.

It was an excellent match where Sabre Jr. had a masterful performance with his submission moves and flawless technique, while Adam Cole was a cocky and crafty heel with some excellent counters. Adam and Zack couldn't have told the story any better.

2 2013: Vs. Sami Callihan (PWG Is Your Body Ready?)

This time, Adam Cole defended the PWG World Title in a 60-Minute Iron Match against Sami Callihan. This was an insane war, with both men pushing each other to their limits and doing whatever it took to win, and as the minutes went by, frustration and fatigue took over.

Overall, it was an absolutely admirable effort from both Cole and Callihan, and in the end Adam Cole won with a score of 6-5 to retain the belt.

1 2012: Vs. The Super Smash Brothers Vs. The Young Bucks (PWG Threemendous III)

In the main event of Threemendous III, Future Shock (Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly) faced The Super Smash Brothers (Player Uno and Stupefied) and The Young Bucks in a Ladder match. This match was a true masterpiece, and if it had taken place in WWE, it would be considered as an all-time classic, no doubt about it.

This was a spot fest, but with brilliant storytelling. The Young Bucks stole the show but Adam Cole did a sensational job as well.
