The history of professional wrestling has seen some epic rivalries in the past and continues to do so in the present-day era. The rivalries driven by storylines featuring some bizarre moments are the ones that make it even more exciting to watch. A similar bizarre experience happened during the WCW feud between the Ultimate Warrior and Brutus 'The Barber' Beefcake.
The Ultimate Warrior was a big attraction in WWE during the early 1990s, rivaling the fame and success of their former poster boy, Hulk Hogan. Apart from his big win at WrestleMania 6, Warrior did not grasp much attention for his other work in the company. On the other hand, Brutus Beefcake was another rising star in WWE during the same era who was seen as a credible star in the golden era with his barber persona and captivating personality.
Both superstars made a name for themselves in WWE and soon found their way out of the company for different reasons. The pair would meet up again in WWE's rival promotion, WCW, and be involved in a feud together. Warrior went up against Brutus Beefcake, who portrayed the Disciple gimmick, and did something extreme to scare the Hulkster for good measure. So let's explore the subject of The Ultimate Warrior abducting a blowup doll of Brutus Beefcake.

The Ultimate Warrior Was In A Feud With Hollywood Hulk Hogan Upon His WCW Debut
It all started in 1998 when Warrior made his surprise debut in WCW to challenge Hollywood Hulk Hogan, who was the leader of the nWo at the time. Warrior had a history with Hogan dating back to their epic match at WrestleMania 6 in 1990, where Warrior defeated Hogan for both the WWE Championship and the Intercontinental Championship. Warrior claimed that he was back to expose Hogan's lies and end his reign of terror.
However, Warrior soon found out that he was not alone in his quest to stop Hogan. He was joined by Brutus Beefcake, who had also been betrayed by Hogan and had adopted a new persona called The Disciple. The Disciple was a silent enforcer who wore sunglasses, leather pants, and a long beard. He followed Warrior's orders and helped him fight against the nWo, who persuaded him to join his faction, oWn.
The feud between Warrior and Hogan culminated at Halloween Havoc 1998, where they faced each other in a rematch of their WrestleMania 6 encounter. Unfortunately, this match was widely considered to be one of the worst matches ever, as it featured botched spots, interference from other wrestlers, and even a failed attempt to set Warrior on fire with a flash paper.
The Ultimate Warrior Blew Up A Doll Of The Disciple To Mock Hulk Hogan
However, before this disastrous match happened, there was another incident that added more fuel to the fire between Warrior and Hulk Hogan. On an episode of WCW Monday Nitro before Halloween Havoc, Warrior decided to play a prank on Hogan by kidnapping his friend The Disciple. He dragged him backstage and locked him in a locker room.
However, when Hogan arrived to rescue The Disciple, he found out that it was not really him who was kidnapped. It was actually a blowup doll dressed like The Disciple! Warrior had switched them at some point and left behind a note that read "Gotcha!" This was supposed to be a humorous way of mocking Hogan's intelligence and loyalty.
Hogan was furious at this stunt and vowed to get revenge on Warrior at Halloween Havoc. However, as we already mentioned, their match turned out to be a disaster and ended with Hogan pinning Warrior after hitting him with an illegal object. This would be their last encounter in WCW, as Warrior left shortly after due to creative differences.
The blowup doll incident is often remembered as one of the most ridiculous moments in WCW history. It showed how far WCW had fallen from its glory days and how desperate they were to create controversy and ratings. It also showed how poorly they used both Warrior and Beefcake, two legends who deserved better treatment and booking.
