Toni Storm's Body Transformation Over The Years, Told In Photos

Current All Elite Wrestling star Toni Storm has been in the pro wrestling industry since 2009 and has worked her way up the ladder to reach the position she's in today.

She broke out into the mainstream wrestling scene after debuting for WWE in 2017 and had a decent run in NXT UK and NXT. However, her main roster career didn't go as she expected, which led her to leave the company and sign with AEW.

She went on to become the first-ever 2-time AEW Women's World Champion, and is enjoying a successful run with the company. With that said, let's take a look back at her journey to the top through her body transformation over the years.

7 Childhood

Toni Storm was born in Auckland, New Zealand, on October 19, 1995, and grew up at Australia's Gold Coast after she moved to the location with her mother after her parents got separated when she was only four.

Storm revealed many things about her childhood during an interview with former WWE ring announcer Lilian Garcia. She stated that her mother and grandparents played a big part in her upbringing.

She also stated that she fell in love with pro wrestling at a young age and wanted to pursue a career in the sport despite her mother being against the idea at first. She revealed John Cena, Jeff Hardy, Shawn Michaels, Mickie James, and Trish Stratus as her favorite wrestlers growing up.

6 Wrestling Beginnings

Toni Storm started her pro-wrestling training at the New Zealand-based promotion Impact Pro Wrestling, which had a facility in Australia as well. She made her official in-ring debut in October 2009 under the name Storm, when she was only 13 years old.

She spent the next five years honing her skills in IPW and other promotions in the Australian circuit before she decided to get more training and got her mother's permission to move to the UK and live with her Liverpool-based grandmother, where she started training under a wrestler named Dean Allmark.

5 Independent Circuit

Following her move to the UK, Toni Storm received more training before starting to work internationally in countries like Finland, France, Germany, and Spain. She attended WWE try out camps in 2014 and 2015, but didn't go through.

She continued working across the UK independent circuit and, most notably, for promotions like Progress and also had a brief stint in Japan at World Wonder Ring Stardom.

During that phase, she had several defining moments, like becoming the inaugural Progress Women's Champion and the first non-Japanese wrestler to win the World of Stardom Championship.

4 WWE Debut

After two failed attempts at getting a WWE contract in 2014 and 2015, Toni Storm finally received the opportunity to compete for the company when WWE announced her as an entrant in the 2017 Mae Young Classic, in which she got eliminated in the semi-final.

She signed a developmental contract with WWE in May 2018 and competed in the 2018 United Kingdom Championship tournament, where she won a triple-threat match to become the number one contender for the NXT Women's Championship but lost to champion Shayna Baszler in the title match.

She then went on to win the 2018 Mae Young Classic and had one run with the NXT UK Women's Championship. She had a brief stint in NXT before she got called up to the main roster.

Following a decent run in the WWE developmental system, Toni Storm got called up to the main roster in July 2021. She defeated Zelina Vega in her debut match, but went on to lose to her in the first round of the Queen's Crown Tournament.

She then entered into a rivalry with SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair, but the build-up to the rivalry had an embarrassing segment which saw Flair throwing a pie down Storm's face.

Coupled with other creative disputes, Toni Storm asked for her release from the company in December 2021, which WWE granted immediately. While talking to Renee Paquette, Storm revealed that she didn't feel appreciated in WWE and that the company almost crushed her love for wrestling.

2 AEW Debut

After her exit from WWE, Toni Storm made a significant change to her looks when she cut her hair a bit short and dyed a portion black. She posted several pictures of her new look on social media, and that was the same look she had when she made her debut for All Elite Wrestling on the March 30, 2022 episode of Dynamite.

She entered the inaugural Owen Hart Foundation Women's Tournament and defeated The Bunny and Jamie Hayter in the initial rounds before losing to Britt Baker in the Semi Final.

1 Women's World Champion & Heel Turn

As she climbed up the ranks in AEW, Toni Storm made another change in her look by cutting her hair even shorter. She went on to become the Interim Women's World Champion after champion Thunder Rosa got injured. She lost the title to Jamie Hayter, and by this time, Rosa had relinquished the title, leading to AEW announcing both Hayter and Storm's reigns as official Women's World title runs.

She then formed a partnership with Saraya and turned heel in the process, which led to her capturing the Women's World title for the second time and became the first wrestler to do so. She lost the title to Hikaru Shida in August 2023 and failed to recapture it at All In 2023.
