Vickie Guerrero Shoots Down Reports She Dislikes Dominik Mysterio Channeling Eddie
There's been a quote you may well have seen doing the rounds on social media this week regarding Dominik Mysterio taking inspiration from Eddie Guerrero. The quote was attributed to Vickie Guerrero, claiming Eddie's widow disliked what Dominik is doing in regard to pulling from Eddie's character and career and that the former WWE Superstar had labeled it disrespectful.
No, Vickie Doesn't Have A Problem
Exactly where this quote originated is unclear as Vickie has now addressed it, revealing that she never said anything about Dominik. In fact, Vickie took the opportunity to admit that she both admires and enjoys what Dominik and Rhea Ripley are doing together in WWE right now. “I never said this about Dominick or stated any comparison between Eddie and him... I have supported Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley on their work at WWE,” Vickie tweeted.

Vickie posted another tweet shortly after that first one, adding Rey Mysterio to the list of people involved in the angle that she supports. WWE has been leaning into Dominik pulling inspiration from Eddie in an attempt to get under Rey's skin as part of a long-running angle. Not only has Dominik been made over to look more like Eddie, but he also refers to Ripley as mami. Chyna would call Eddie papi during their famous run together.
The Guerreros And The Mysterios
While Vickie would be well within her rights to take issue with the storyline, it's not a secret that the Guerreros and the Mysterios have been close for years and likely remain good friends to this day. While no one might have asked Vickie if running with the angle was okay with her, if it was revealed that she wasn't okay with it, it seems likely that the Eddie elements of it would have been toned down.
WWE had to make a swerve with its Mysterio angle at Royal Rumble due to Rey suffering an injury. Unable to compete in the Rumble, Rey's music played but he didn't show. Dominik entered the match next wearing his dad's mask, insinuating that he had beaten up his father so he couldn't enter the match.
