What Happened to Lisa Vanderpump's Former Houseguest, Cedric Martinez?
Cedric Martinez was once Lisa Vanderpump's best friend on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. What happened to him after he left the show?
Former The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Vanderpump has a lot to answer in regards to her past houseguest, Cedric Martinez. Martinez spoke out about being used as a pawn to keep Vanderpump relevant since season 1 of RHOBH in an episode of the Reality Life podcast in 2017.
Cedric Martinez was the beloved houseguest of Lisa Vanderpump in season 1 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. But while Vanderpump insisted that Martinez was like a son to her, by the time the season 1 reunion rolled around, the pair had a major falling out. And as fans fave seen, Cedric isn't the only person that Lisa has iced out, as her feud with Kyle Richards is ongoing. Since then, Cedric Martinez was rarely talked about on the show, minus his small connection to villain, Brandi Glanville. Towards the end of season 2, Martinez showed up at the grand opening for SUR, causing another explosive argument between himself, Vanderpump, and Vanderpump's husband, Ken Todd. While no one has really seen or heard from the former best friend of Vanderpump in years, he spoke out about the manipulation in 2020 that went on when he was featured on RHOBH.
Taking to his Instagram, Cedric posted a screenshot of an email exchange in June 2020, which depicts a conversation between his manager and an individual from the production company for RHOBH. The screenshot proves that Vanderpump had full knowledge Martinez would be in attendance at the SUR opening. He believes this gave Vanderpump the upper hand and a chance to rehearse what she wanted to say. Cedric continued to speak about the day he signed his contract, which he also shared on social media (via Cheat Sheet). He wanted to have the chance to look it over, but Vanderpump, an individual who he saw as a motherly figure, pushed him to sign it, as did producers of the show. "For God sakes Cedric, we all had to sign the same contract!” were the words used by Vanderpump to pressure Martinez to sign his name away to the RHOBH franchise. Take a look at his post about crashing the SUR opening from his Instagram.
Although Cedric Martinez hasn't been part of the RHOBH world in years, he continues to talk about his experience. In 2017, he went on Kate Casey's Reality Life podcast and claimed that Lisa having a gay houseguest was a "bonus" when she first auditioned for the show (via Cheat Sheet). Martinez claimed things fell apart when he was dating Lance Bass. He believes Vanderpump planted little drama seeds in the relationship for more screen time and story arcs. He claims she deliberately chose to play puppeteer and ruin his relationship. Martinez also claims that Vanderpump uses any chance she gets to bring up the situation in order to stay relevant. After his time on the show ended, Cedric struggled with severe mental health issues. He eventually moved back to Europe, claiming he wanted a quiet life, rather than one filled with fame.
While Cedric Martinez continues to reveal the truth, it's clear he no longer wishes to be part of this negative narrative. As of late, Cedric and Lisa Vanderpump are still not friends. The manipulation from someone he thought so highly of still hurts to this day, even though years have passed. Martinez hasn't posted anything on his Instagram since August 2020 but Distractify noted that he's working in hospitality and has lived in France as of 2020.
