What Is NoteIt App & How Do You Use It?
Have a partner or close friend? Want a fun way to send notes to them? The 'NoteIt' app for the iPhone could be worth a look! Here's how it works.
Ever wish there was an app that made it easy to share notes with your friend/partner — and even have those notes show up right on their iPhone home screen? That's exactly what the 'NoteIt' app promises to do, and learning how to use it is pretty simple. While it can be easy to get consumed with 'old' apps like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, new ones are popping up all the time with fun and innovative ideas.
In 2022 alone, a couple of apps have stood out as being particularly eye-catching. Locket Widget exploded at the beginning of the year as a unique way to share photos with friends. Rather than posting pictures on social media, sharing them with friends on Locket Widget adds them directly to friends' home screens. Another app by the name of 'Prequel' also blew up — primarily thanks to its viral cartoon filter. There's lots of innovation still happening in the mobile app space. You just have to look for it.
NoteIt is another smartphone app that stands out for being something special. It was originally released in June 2021, but it wasn't until February 2022 that the app started gaining popularity. It got so popular, in fact, that it was at one point the #1 Entertainment app on the App Store — and the #1 free app in general. The idea behind NoteIt is fairly simple. Two people download the app, sync their accounts together, and then use NoteIt to send notes back and forth. Notes are viewable in the NoteIt app and on your iPhone home screen (thanks to the NoteIt widget).
How To Use The NoteIt App
Getting started with NoteIt is as easy as any other modern app. Open the App Store on your iPhone, tap the 'Search' button at the bottom of the screen, type 'NoteIt' into the search bar, and download the app called 'NoteIt - Drawing App.' Once installed, open the app, tap 'Sign up,' and create an account with your preferred email and password (or tap 'Sign up with Apple' to make an account that way). Once your account is created, users are prompted to share their 'link code' with another NoteIt user. Tap 'Share,' choose how you want to send the code, and share with whomever you want to use NoteIt with. Alternatively, if someone invited you to use NoteIt, enter their code in the 'Already have your partner's code?' box and tap 'Link.' Once you or your friend has entered the other person's code and tapped the 'Link' button, both users' apps will update so they can start using it.
From there, using NoteIt is fairly easy. To send a new note, tap the '+' icon in the screen's upper-right corner and create whatever kind of note you want. There are a few different drawing tools available, including a marker, highlighter, pencil, eraser, ruler, and lasso tool. Tap the 'Save' button once you're finished, and just like that, the note is sent to the other user. NoteIt says it may take up to 15 minutes for new notes to appear, but they should be available almost instantly.
In addition to seeing notes in the NoteIt app, it's also easy to make them appear right on your home screen. From any of your iPhone home screens, tap and hold on an app or widget, tap 'Edit Home Screen,' tap the '+' icon in the upper-left corner, scroll down the page of widgets, tap 'NoteIt,' choose which size you want, and then tap 'Add Widget.' Within a couple of seconds, the widget should update to display the most recently-received note. And that's really all there is to it. Download the NoteIt app, link your account with a close friend or partner, and start sending each other notes right away.
