What Pokémon GO TCG Cards Release Date Is

The Pokémon Trading Card Game's anticipated collaboration with Niantic is set to hit stores soon, here is the Pokémon GO TCG Card release date.

What Pokemon GO TCG Cards Release Date Is

The Pokémon Trading Card Game is teaming up with Niantic to release a special Pokémon GO TCG set. The project was originally teased in 2021, with the release of the Professor Willow Pokémon card, which was given out to free to customers who bought Pokémon GO  merchandise for a limited amount of time. After a year of anticipation, the Pokémon GO TCG set has finally gotten a release date and will be hitting stores soon.

Like Shining Fates, the Pokémon GO TCG collaboration is not a full expansion but is instead a special subset of the Sword and Shield TCG series which launched in 2020. The limited-time release will include a collection of Pokémon cards that will feature the artwork of Pokémon, characters, items, and iconic locations from the Niantic mobile title. For instance, Pokémon GO team leaders Candela, Blanche, and Spark can be found as full-art Trainer cards.

Although the TCG set was originally teased for 2021, the collaboration was eventually given a "Summer 2022" release window. It was then revealed in April that the Pokémon GO TCG set would not be sold in booster packs outside of Japan. So, international collectors will need to buy special collection set bundles in order to get their hands on the Pokémon Sword & Shield TCG subset. Because of this, the official release is going to be staggered at various times through a variety of limited-time products sold at retailers.
