John Cena is most known for his time with World Wrestling Entertainment. Starting his professional wrestling career in 1999, Cena would capture multiple championships, main-event WrestleMania on numerous occasions, and even start his acting career with WWE films. John Cena's first film role would be as an uncredited extra in the World Championship Wrestling film, Ready to Rumble.

However, Cena's first real role was in 2006's The Marine, in which he was the lead actor. Cena would continue acting up to the present day with multiple big films like F9, The Suicide Squad, & The Independent. John Cena has even made the foray into television with some made for TV movies like the Fred series and his current show Peacemaker. John Cena's co-stars have spoken very fondly of working with him, so let's take a look at some of the things that they said while filming alongside the WWE legend.

7 Lil Rel Howery

Lil Rel Howery and John Cena would co-star in the 2021 buddy-comedy, Vacation Friends. Starring alongside the two were their on-screen partners Yvonne Orji and Meredith Hagner respectively. It would be during a press conference that Howery would speak on acting with Cena.

Howery would go on to talk about how he hopes to work with John again. Howery would even express his hopes to "be the next Richard Pryor to Cena's Gene Wilder."

6 Margot Robbie

Margot Robbie would return as Harley Quinn for 2021's The Suicide Squad alongside new member John Cena, who would play the character of Peacemaker. During an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Robbie would talk about how she watched WWE when she was growing up, and being a fan of The Undertaker.

She also confessed when she was in her early 20s that her boyfriend was obsessed with John Cena and would dress as him for his 21st birthday. Also, that the boyfriend had a cardboard cut-out of Cena in their room for two years.

5 Leslie Mann

Leslie Mann and John Cena starred alongside each other in the 2018 comedy, Blockers. Leslie Mann would make an appearance on Late Night, where she talked to Seth Meyers about John Cena on set. Mann would compliment Cena's physique and how he has been in great shape.

She also talked about the "chugging" scene and how John Cena was very comfortable being nude on set. Mann also mentioned how she tried to help Cena cover up during the hours-long filming by covering him with her dress at points which he refused to let her do.

4 Freddie Stroma

Peacemaker star, Freddie Stroma, got a chance to talk about his on-screen partner in crime when speaking with Looper during an exclusive interview. Stroma said, "I was absolutely in awe of John. He can do everything."

Stroma mentioned how Cena is a "hulk of a man" who plays piano, reads daily, and speaks Mandarin. Freddie would also talk about how kind and intelligent Cena is, including that "it was such a joy to work with him." John also got a chance to speak about Stroma, where he admitted that he didn't have any clue Freddie was British until they wrapped production on the show.

3 Hailee Steinfeld

John Cena's Bumblebee co-star Hailee Steinfeld would share about a funny story about the two on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Steinfeld talked about how much driving she had to do for the film, not thinking it would be too hard since she can already drive.

She later admitted that during a scene where she had to drive downhill at ridiculously high speeds, she had to come to a "screeching halt" mere inches from John. Steinfeld also spoke on how during that event Cena didn't even flinch. She also jokingly spoke about how Cena is not normal for that type of reaction.

2 Jennifer Holland

Jennifer Holland is very different from her on-screen character Emilia Harcourt. Holland would speak about John Cena with LA Confidential, saying that she loves working alongside him. Jennifer said, "I want to gush about John Cena, he is just a larger-than-life celebrity."

The two met on set for the film, The Suicide Squad, but didn't speak much then, and she admits she didn't know what to expect when it came to working closely with him on Peacemaker later on. Holland also said, "He is just the most wonderful person that we could have ever gotten to be the lead of our series. He gave 150 percent all the time."

1 Vin Diesel

John Cena would make his debut in the Fast and Furious series as Jakob Toretto, the brother of Vin Diesel's character Dom. John Cena talked about how he had a random meeting with Vin Diesel and talked for a while, before realizing that this was an audition for the franchise.

Vin Diesel later spoke on The Kelly Clarkson Show about his experience working alongside John Cena, saying that he had anxiety looking for the actor that would play his on-screen brother. Vin claimed since he is multicultural, "you could've cast anybody to be my brother." Diesel says that he believes that the late Fast and Furious actor, Paul Walker, had a hand in getting Cena the role.
