Why WWE Fired The Kat (& 9 More Things Fans Should Know About Her)
Stacy Carter worked for WWE for around two years, before she got released in 2001. Carter wasn't a great wrestler, and was hired mostly because she fit the mold for what WWE wanted in their divas at the time. She was also brought in because she was Jerry Lawler's wife at that time.

During her career, she had several memorable moments that fans still remember to this day. Carter has been long gone from WWE and is also retired from wrestling. While her time in WWE ended in just a few short years, she wasn't totally forgettable. The following are some things about Stacy, also known as The Kat and Miss Kitty in WWE, that fans should know about her.
10 Joined WWE As A Valet
The Kat first joined WWE in August 1999 as a valet. On-screen, she was Debra's assistant. She was hired by Jeff Jarrett whom Debra used to manage on television.
Jarrett left the company after losing the Intercontinental Championship to Chyna. The Kat then became Chyna's manager; she even dressed like her and was known as Chynette.
9 She Wasn't A Trained Wrestler
During the Attitude Era, WWE didn't care whether all their female on-screen talent could wrestle or not.
The Kat was hired by the WWE without ever going to a wrestling school. This wasn't a problem when she had a managerial role, but then she started wrestling as well and it was a disaster. This was long before the WWE made it a priority for their female performers to be able to deliver in the ring.
8 She Won The Women's Championship Once
At Armageddon 1999, The Kat defeated B.B, Ivory, and Jacqueline in an Evening Gown pool match for the WWE Women's Championship. Mae Young and The Fabulous Moolah were the special guest referees for this match.

The Kat won the match by stripping Ivory. Her reign wasn't any good, and she was easily one of the most forgettable Women's Champions ever.
7 Flashed The Crowd Once
While winning a championship is often a memorable moment for a wrestler, it wasn't the same for The Kat. After winning the Women's Championship, The Kat flashed for the fans and was then quickly escorted backstage.
This was the first case of intentional nudity in WWE history. Her flashing the crowd made more headlines than her winning the title.
6 She Was Jerry Lawler's Wife
Stacy Carter and Jerry Lawler first met each other during a softball game in 1989. The King was married at that time to his second wife Paula Lawler. After they divorced, he and Stacy started living together.
After dating for nearly a decade, Lawler and Carter tied the knot in September 2000. Their marriage didn't last long though, and they seperated sometime in 2001 before finalizing their divorce just three years after getting married.
5 Heat With Ivory
The Kat seemingly had heat with former WWE Women's Champion, Ivory. Ironically enough, Ivory was the last person Carter worked with directly in WWE, as her final storyline in the company involved her feuding with Right to Censor. In fact, her last night working for the company involved her losing a match, which meant she would be forced to join the group.
Back in 2012, Ivory called Stacy a "poison." She claimed that Carter used Jerry Lawler to get her wrestling gigs. When The Kat was asked about Ivory, she simply said that the only problem Ivory had with her was that she once caught her eating Kit Kat and passed a snarky comment at her.
4 Why She Was Fired
Back in 2001, The Kat was abruptly released from WWE despite the fact that she was in the middle of a storyline. There were rumors that WWE fired her because the locker room didn't like her or that she and Jerry had a meeting with Playboy Magazine without WWE's approval. But these weren't the reasons why Stacy was released.
Both Jim Ross and Bruce Prichard have confirmed that Vince McMahon released Stacy simply because she was way too hard to work with. She constantly butted heads with the writers, and when they complained to Vince about it, he immediately asked Ross to fire her. Out of protest for his wife, Lawler also quit WWE at that time. He returned to the company later that year once he and Carter split up.
3 She Didn't Want To Work In Wrestling
When Stacy and Jerry first met, she had no interest in professional wrestling. At that time, Carter was a bank teller. Later, she got a job at a professional photography studio with Lawler's help. He also helped her run a hair salon.
Stacy has claimed that she never wanted to be in the wrestling business, and Lawler had to drag her out of their house to work for Memphis wrestling. Lawler's Memphis promotion was often seen as a stepping stone for wrestlers to work their way into WWE and this proved to be the case for Carter as well.
2 She Was Offered To Show It All For $10,000
Back in the day, many female wrestlers used to pose for Playboy and other men's magazines. Since the WWE moved away from showcasing their women in this fashion, we haven't seen the company embrace it the way they did in the past.
In his book, It's Good to Be the King...Sometimes, Jerry Lawler revealed that Stacy Carter was offered $10,000 to bear it all on Missy Hyatt's website. Stacy rejected the offer, however.
1 She Also Married Sinn Bodhi
Some years after splitting with Jerry Lawler, Miss Kitty started dating Sinn Bodhi. WWE fans better know him as Kizarny, who worked for the company from 2006 to 2009.
Both wrestlers announced their engagement in June 2010. Kizarny's younger brother and The Rated R Superstar, Edge, were his best men. This marriage also ended within three years.
