WWE 2K22's Banzai Pack DLC Is Available Now

WWE 2K22 launched last month, and sales figures combined with the significant lack of videos highlighting any of its glitches would suggest so far, the game has been a success. At least when directly compared to WWE 2K20 which effectively became a meme within a week of launch. 2K will continue expanding on its new game too, adding the first of five planned DLC packs this week.

The Banzai Pack

The first DLC, labeled the Banzai Pack, launched this week. The pack takes its name from three of the five Superstars it has added to the game. Yokozuna, Umaga, and Rikishi, the latter of which used the Banzai Drop for a large chunk of his career. Current WWE Superstars Omos and Kacy Catanzaro, who is now known as Katana Chance, round out the pack.

If you have WWE 2K22's Season Pass, or you opted for the Deluxe or nWo 4-Life editions of the game, then the Banzai Pack should be available to download right now at no extra cost. If none of those options apply to you, then you can buy the first of the five DLC packs for $9.99. There will be at least four more DLC packs that will add 28 extra Superstars to a roster that is already more than 150 wrestlers strong.

Last Week's Update

It isn't just new Superstars that have been added to the game post-launch. Last week, WWE 2K22's biggest update yet added the NXT 2.0 arena and made some significant changes to MyGM. The mode now has Tag Team Titles and you can extend the length of shows depending on the difficulty you're playing on. Great additions to what is, in fairness, still a pretty basic mode, even with those tweaks.

WWE 2K22 needed to be a hit for a number of reasons. The failure of 2K20 seemingly led WWE to explore other avenues. There were rumors shortly after 2K22 launched suggesting higher-ups had met with EA when considering the future of its video games. The success of WWE 2K22 off the bat, and the continued support for the game from the studio, may well mean WWE games remain under the 2K banner for the time being.
