WWE Announces Another Singles Match For WrestleMania Backlash

WWEhas announced a fifth match for the upcoming WrestleMania Backlash 2022 pay-per-view.

On Saturday, WWE.com confirmed that Happy Corbin and Madcap moss will go one-one-one at WrestleMania Backlash, which will run on May 8 at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. This will be the first singles match between the two stars since Corbin turned on his friend.

The other four confirmed matches on the WrestleMania Backlash are Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair in an "I Quit" match for the SmackDown Women's Championship, The Usos vs. RK-Bro in a tag team titles unification match, Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins and Edge vs. AJ Styles.

Like last year's WrestleMania Backlash event, the 2022 show will feature several rematches from WrestleMania weekend. The Rousey-Flair, Rhodes-Rollins and Edge-Styles bouts are all rematches from WrestleMania 38. Corbin lost to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 38 and took out his frustrations on Moss, betraying the latter during a "Happy Talk" segment on the Apr. 8 edition of SmackDown.

Madcap Moss and Happy Corbin Cropped

Corbin and Moss were involved in a feud with McIntyre for several months. The Scottish Warrior defeated Moss in singles matches at WWE Day 1 and at Elimination Chamber. The program between the three stars wrapped up following WrestleMania 38 weekend, and it looks like McIntyre will be Roman Reigns' challenger at WrestleMania Backlash.

Other Potential WrestleMania Backlash Matches

So far, there are only two title matches on the WrestleMania Backlash card. That's obviously going to change soon, and Reigns will most certainly defend his championship at the show.

It'd be a giant surprise if Raw Women's Champion Bianca Belair wasn't featured on the card, and a rematch with Becky Lynch feels inevitable. Sasha Banks and Naomi claimed the Women's Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 38 weekend, so it'd make sense for them to defend the titles against another strong tag team. Theory just dethroned Finn Balor as the United States Champion, so a rematch between the two feels like a strong possibility.
