30 years later, WWE is finally headed back to the UK for a major PPV. Yes, there were those Rebellion and Insurextion shows during the late '90s and early 2000s, but they don't really count as they weren't on the same scale as this will be. Clash at the Castle will take place at the Principality Stadium. A location capable of hosting almost 75,000 fans which will make it the biggest WWE event to take place in the UK since SummerSlam 1992. Hopefully the main event is as iconic as Bret Hart vs. British Bulldog was at that show, but more on that in a second.

Much like the biannual visits to Saudi Arabia, Clash at the Castle taking place outside of North America means a very different start time for those of you watching in the US. Clash at the Castle will begin at 6 pm local time in the UK on September 3. The time difference means the show will begin at 1 pm EST, and could well be preceded by a kickoff show too. If you fancy watching what will be a pretty historic show on a Saturday afternoon, you can do so on Peacock in the US and the regular WWE Network everywhere else. Everything announced for the show so far, including that main event, can be found below.

Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship

It feels like Drew McIntyre has been next in line for a shot at dethroning Roman Reigns for a very long time. The Scottish Psychopath will finally get his chance in his home country at Clash of the Castle. Eventually beating Sheamus to earn the opportunity after The Celtic Warrior kept ducking him, McIntyre might well pose the biggest threat to The Tribal Chief's 700+ day reign so far.

Such a threat, in fact, that it seems incredibly likely McIntyre will bring it to an end when the two do battle in Cardiff. As touched upon above, WWE will be eager to create that one moment fans talk about for years, and this could be it. Karrion Kross might be thrown into the mix somehow, and Theory is lurking with his briefcase, but hopefully, this match is left as it is and McIntyre picks up a huge win.

Liv Morgan vs. Shayna Baszler for the SmackDown Women's Championship

Liv Morgan shocked the WWE Universe somewhat when she beat Ronda Rousey at SummerSlam. Her reign felt very much like a one-month thing WWE was throwing at fans to shut them up. Morgan's run continues though, and at Clash at the Castle, Rousey's best bud Shayna Baszler will try to avenge her friend. Baszler won a seven-person gauntlet match to book her spot opposite Morgan.

It's unclear which direction WWE will go with Morgan, Baszler, and even Rousey. Suffice to say the boos the champ received when trying to explain her win at SummerSlam came as quite the surprise to Morgan and those in charge of her fate. That combined with Triple H now at the helm, who has always been a big fan of Baszler, could result in a major title change in this one.

Riddle vs. Seth Rollins

Pulling Seth Rollins vs. Riddle from the SummerSlam card was an odd and disappointing decision. Since Riddle rushed the ring and brawled with Rollins on the show, the injury supposedly preventing him from competing clearly wasn't legitimate. Whatever the reason behind it, Riddle is now back and we will officially be getting the canceled match at Clash at the Castle.

This may well be match of the night. The only issue is who wins. Neither man can really afford to take an L in this one, but barring a screwy finish, someone is going to have to. Since there are only so many times Rollins can come out of a loss on a big stage looking good, and he has already set his sights on Reigns, he seems the more likely of the two to win in Cardiff

Bianca Belair, Asuka, and Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley, Iyo Sky, and Dakota Kai

One of the biggest moments from SummerSlam arguably happened right at the start of the show. Bayley returned after a year away, bringing Iyo Sky with her along with a returning Dakota Kai. Bayley has made it pretty clear she's gunning for Bianca Belair's title, but lucky for Belair the trio has bothered Asuka and Alexa Bliss on their tirade, resulting in this six-woman match at Clash at the Castle.

The bad news for Bayley is she won't be getting that title match she desires in what might well be her first match back. As of right now, she still hasn't wrestled since her return. On the bright side, it seems likely she and her cronies will be picking up the win, bringing her one step closer to challenging Belair for the championship.

Gunther vs. Sheamus for the Intercontinental Championship

This match will be a historical one for a number of reasons. For starters, it's the first time the Intercontinental Title will be on the line at a WWE PPV for well over a year. Second of all, the IC Title is the one championship in WWE Sheamus has never one. He has joked that he will retire once he wins it, adding even more clout to what is already a pretty big match.

Gunther has been on a tear as IC Champion, and it's fitting that he will be the one defending it on a PPV for the first time in 2022. His time with the championship will likely be up at Clash, though. Sheamus never winning the IC Title continues to come up, so much so that it would be a huge missed opportunity if he doesn't win it here.

Edge and Rey Mysterio vs. The Judgment Day

The Judgment Day was the faction Edge helped create. A lot has changed since then, and now the Finn Balor-led group is intent on taking its former leader down. Edge has recruited Rey Mysterio along the way, another legend Judgment Day has taken issue with, and the two will team up to take on the group dead set on ending their careers this Saturday.

The winners in this one ultimately depends on what WWE has planned for Judgment Day's future. They're featured a lot, but not really going places, so it seems likely Edge and Mysterio will pick up the win in this match
