The East features a strong cast of young actors like Elliott Page and Alexander Skarsgård who help elevate the material. The result is a tense and gripping modern thriller more viewers should check out.

The ensemble comedy Game Night follows a group of friends who organize a murder mystery game night only for it to turn into a real life-and-death situation. Magnussen plays the least intelligent of the group of friends who often causes more trouble than he helps.

The show does a fairly good job of balancing all the various tones and big ideas to make a compelling relationship story. Milioti really shines as the lead while Magnussen gets a solid villainous role.

6 Aladdin (2019) - 6.9

Following the trend of Disney animated classics getting live-action updates, Aladdin brings the magical and vivid story to life. Following closely to the original, it tells the story of the titular hero who escapes his life on the streets and attempts to win the heart of a princess after awakening a magic genie. Magnussen has a small comedic role as one of Jasmine's would-be suitors.

Though it does not hold up to the animated original, Aladdin has fun bringing the classic songs to life while Will Smith gives an entertaining performance as the genie, making the role his own.

5 Bridge of Spies (2015) - 7.6

Magnussen had the chance to work with a pair of Hollywood legends when he starred alongside Tom Hanks in Steven Spielberg's Bridge of Spies. The movie is set during the Cold War with Hanks playing a lawyer tasked with defending a Soviet spy in court. Magnussen plays a young lawyer on Hanks's team.

Though not as epic as some of Spielberg's other movies, Bridge of Spies is an entertaining legal thriller featuring an Oscar-winning performance from Mark Rylance as the Soviet spy.

4 Maniac (2018) - 7.8

Despite starring huge movie stars Emma Stone and Jonah Hill, the Netflix limited series Maniac failed to get much attention. It is a surreal and complex story about two strangers who participate in an experimental drug program that results in an unexpected connection between them.

Magnussen plays yet another sleazy villain role as Hill's deceptive and manipulative brother. Though the mind-bending story is not for everyone, Stone and Hill give great performances and No Time to Die director Cary Joji Fukunaga delivers some stunning visuals.

3 The Big Short (2015) - 7.8

Adam McKay stepped away from the outrageous comedies he made with Will Ferrell to direct this Oscar-winning movie about the 2007 housing crisis. The Big Short tells various stories surrounding the financial disaster with Magnussen appearing as a crooked mortgage broker who brags about ripping people off.

The subject matter may seem dry to some viewers, but McKay manages to tackle it in an entertaining and funny way. The movie also features an incredible star-studded cast including Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Christian Bale, and Brad Pitt.

The first season of the show was a fascinating look at one of the most-watched trials in American history. It featured standout performances from Sarah Paulson and Courtney B. Vance while offering new insight into the media sensation surrounding the trial.

1 Black Mirror (2011– ) - 8.8

Magnussen appeared in another hugely popular anthology series in Black Mirror. The series examined the dark side of technology with often disturbing stories. Magnussen appeared in one of the few stories with a comedic tone which was a fun though twisted take on Star Trek.

Though the episodes can be a little hit-or-miss, this episode, entitled "USS Callister", was especially clever. It used the concept of an old sci-fi series to explore the idea of toxic masculinity in interesting ways.
