While holiday-themed matches don’t tend to be the greatest wrestling clinics ever put to the screen, the matches generally do manage to put a smile on the faces of fans around the world for one reason or another. Some of the all-time greatest wrestlers of the modern era have competed in their fair share of excellent holiday matches.

10 Santa’s Workshop Street Fight - TNA Knockouts

ODB Holding Impact Title

While notable TNA holiday matches can be a bit harder to come by when compared to a company like WWE, that doesn’t mean they haven’t put on their own share of holly jolly matches.

One of TNA’s holiday matches featured a long list of women from their knockouts division competing in a wild street fight. The match featured plenty of Christmas attire, brawls around the arena, and some classic moments for fans of ODB. While it wasn’t an incredible match, the women all seemed to give it their all which seemed to leave the fans in attendance happy.

9 Miracle On 34th Street Fight - Randy Orton Vs David Otunga

While the match between Randy Orton and David Otunga wasn’t the most exciting thing to watch, it was probably enough to put smiles on the faces of those that didn’t like Otunga. The entire match seemed to purely be an exercise in the different ways Orton could hurt Otunga.

There were plenty of holiday-themed objects used throughout the match like candy cane kendo sticks, Christmas presents, and even Christmas trees. Otunga crashed through just about every object in sight at some point during the match, and the crowd seemed to be loving every minute of it.

8 Mistletoe On A Pole - WWE Divas

Unfortunately, one of the more fun and unique ideas for a holiday match wasn’t exactly used in the best way. The match actually featured plenty of fan-favorite women's wrestlers like AJ Lee, Kaitlyn, and the Bella Twins, but the fact that it barely lasted more than a minute was a letdown.

It could have been great to see the women really go at it in a unique match like that, especially during a time when truly enjoyable women's matches were unfortunately quite rare. While the prize isn’t the most incredible thing, seeing today's women roster in a match like that could be excellent.

7 The Battle For Christmas - Mark Henry Vs Damien Sandow

Sometimes all fans need during the holiday season is a classic heel vs a classic face fighting in the name of a beloved holiday. When it comes to Christmas, throwing two wrestlers into Santa suits and having them leave it all in the ring is something any wrestling fan can enjoy.

Mark Henry andDamien Sandow competed in a short but memorable match on a 2013 episode of Raw. It saw them battling with candy cane kendo sticks, Christmas trees, presents, and even a fire extinguisher before the match was over.

6 Eggnog Match - Torrie Wilson Vs Stacy Kiebler

A unique match that really is a relic of a bygone era, Torrie Wilson’s and Stacy Kiebler’s Eggnog Match was certainly something. Wrestling fans were sure to be pleased as the two beautiful women strutted down the ramp in Christmas outfits.

Rather than a match in a wrestling ring, the duo fought by and inside of a pool of eggnog. While it was more of a scramble than a wrestling match, the match is enough to give any wrestling fan a few good chuckles. While it’s possible the match was a bit embarrassing for the women involved, they do look like they had at least a hint of fun.

5 Miracle On 34th Street Fight - John Cena Vs Alberto Del Rio

Santa Foley Aids John Cena

Usually, holiday matches are reserved for wrestlers a few steps from the top of the card, but that isn’t always the case. While there are plenty of wrestling fans who have never been and likely will never be fans of John Cena, it’s hard to say it isn’t at least a little fun to see him terrorizing a classic heel like Alberto Del Rio.

One of the best parts of the match is when Santa Claus himself comes down the ramp in order to help John Cena as he deals with both Del Rio and his pesky valet. The outcome may have been predictable, but that doesn’t stop the match from being a great holiday watch.

4 Santa Vs Santa - Tajiri Vs Bubba Ray Dudley

A surprising, but incredibly fun match-up came from a holiday brawl between Tajiri andBubba Ray Dudley. The two dressed up in full Santa Clause costumes and got into one of the best Christmas matches ever put on by WWE.

The match was made all the better by the hot crowd and various cuts to the wrestlers watching backstage. Just when everything looks lost for Tajiri, Taz makes a bit of a save to even the odds and the crowd got a happy ending to their Christmas match.

3 Miracle On 34th Street Fight - Dean Ambrose & Bray Wyatt

Dean Ambrose Vs Bray Wyatt

Even though he’s no longer with the company, it’s likely that many WWE fans think of Dean Ambrose whenever a street fight is mentioned. It shouldn’t be a surprise that Ambrose and Wyatt managed to create one of the most unique Christmas matches the WWE has ever put on.

While the match features the usual Christmas weapons, Ambrose and Wyatt use them in some interesting ways, including a Christmas tree drop. With a great table spot near the match’s conclusion, it’s safe to say that all the fans in attendance received quite the present from the WWE.

2 Christmas Present On A Pole Match - Dolph Ziggler & Fandango

Dolph Ziggler Vs Fandango

Few things are a better gift for wrestling fans than two wrestlers that are often viewed as incredibly underutilized going at it in a unique gimmick match. While the match isn’t all that holiday-themed outside of the singular gimmick, the match itself is excellent.

Ziggler and Fandango managed to create an interesting match despite spending a majority of it in one corner of the ring. At one point, Ziggler even takes a nasty-looking bump on the outside up against the steel steps. It may be hard to see Fandango winning a match like that nowadays, but it shouldn’t be forgotten how hot of a star he was at one point.

1 Santa Vs Santa - Mick Foley & JBL

Santa Foley Vs Santa JBL

In the eyes of many wrestling fans, Mick Foley andJBL are both two of the greatest to ever step into a WWE ring, and often for completely different reasons. While their Christmas match wasn’t one of the longer matches from either of the men’s careers, it still was a lot of fun for the fans.

One of the best parts of the match is the fact that it was a part of the 2005 Tribute To The Troops show in order to entertain wrestling fans serving overseas in the military. Wrestling fans will likely agree that there’s something great about watching Foley nail JBL with a big bag of presents.
