10 Tag Teams With The Best Claim To Be On A Wrestling Mount Rushmore

When people talk about the Mount Rushmore of professional wrestling, they talk about names like Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, and Stone Cold Steve Austin. The fourth spot always changes, but the one constant thing is that people are only talking about singles professional wrestlers and never about the tag teams in the industry.

That makes sense, as the singles scene always drives the sport forward, but for many fans, there is nothing better than a tag team match between two established tag teams. The sport of professional wrestling has always had amazing tag teams, and while many split up to create a new singles star, especially in WWE, the best of the best remain known for their work together, as much as apart.

10 The Wild Samoans

Wild Samoans

Recently on WWE television, Roman Reigns cemented his spot as the Tribal Chief and the head of the table when it comes to the Samoan Dynasty. Two men came out and honored Reigns after the match. This was his father, Sika, and his uncle, Afa.

These were the Wild Samoans, and they were the most famous men when it came to what has become a legendary wrestling dynasty. They held three WWE Tag Team Titles and 17 other titles across the world over their legendary career.

9 The Brisco Brothers

Brisco Brothers

This is not the Ring of Honor Briscoe Brothers, but the legendary tag team of Jack and Gerald Brisco. The brothers teamed in the '70s and '80s and had memorable battles with all the tag teams of that era, including a fellow tag team of brothers in Terry and Dory Funk.

Throughout their career, the Brisco Brothers won over 20 tag team championships over just 13 years. Jack was also a two-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion. Gerald went on to have a long career behind-the-scenes in WWE as a scout.

8 Edge & Christian

Edge and Christian

In the Attitude Era, the tag team scene in WWE exploded thanks to three tag teams, and all three of those teams are Mount Rushmore material for the business. The first of the teams is Edge & Christian.

The two close friends broke into WWE around the same time, with Edge as the first on the scene and Christian showing up quickly as his "brother." Together, the two men won the WWE Tag Team Titles seven times. Once they split up, Edge won 11 world titles, and Christian won six (two WWE World, two ECW, and two NWA).

7 Tully Blanchard & Arn Anderson

Brainbusters

In the '80s, there was no more dominating stable than the Four Horsemen, and the lineup that went into the WWE Hall of Fame was Nature Boy Ric Flair, Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson, and Barry Windham. While Blanchard and Anderson had singles success, they were even better as a tag team.

The two men won the NWA World Tag Team Championship belts twice as members of the Four Horsemen. They then left for WWE and won the WWE World Tag Team Championship there. Sadly, their time ended after Blanchard lost his job due to outside problems, but when together, no one was better.

6 The Steiner Brothers

Steiner Bros

In the '90s, there was not a better technically sound tag team in professional wrestling than Rick and Scott Steiner. Rick was already a solid tag team star before teaming with his brother, working in Hot Stuff International and The Varsity Club.

However, when he teamed with his brother, they took the world by storm. They were the first team ever to win the WWE, WCW, and IWGP Tag Team Titles. They won 17 titles together before they split up, and Scott became a world champion.

5 The Midnight Express

The Midnight Express

There are two different versions of The Midnight Express that experienced a high level of success. Beautiful Bobby Eaton and Loverboy Dennis Condrey were the first to reach success in the NWA, winning the World Tag Team Titles once and numerous regional tag titles.

Then, Condrey left, and Sweet Stan Lane took his place. Lane, who was previously part of the Fabulous Ones, made the team even better, and they won the NWA World Tag Team Titles once and the NWA U.S. Tag Team Titles twice.

4 The Dudley Boyz

Dudley Boyz

The second duo that was part of the tag team renaissance in the Attitude Era was the Dudley Boyz, and they are the most decorated tandems in the history of professional wrestling. They started in ECW and had great success there, widely considered the best tag team in company history.

The Dudley Boyz are the only team ever to hold the WWF, WWE, ECW, WCW, NWA, TNA, and IWGP Tag Team Championships. They are 23-time champions when all titles are combined.

3 The Hardy Boyz

Hardy Boyz

The final team that was part of the WWE Attitude Era resurgence was The Hardy Boyz. The brothers entered WWE as undersized jobbers, but their heart, determination, and death-defying moves made them stars as the fans started to buy into their tag team.

They are the only team in history to win the Ring of Honor, TNA Impact Wrestling, and WWE Tag Team Titles within a month of each other. They have won 20 different tag team titles, and both men have been world champions.

2 The Rock 'N' Roll Express

Rock N Roll Express

When anyone talks about the best babyface tag team in professional wrestling history, the conversation always ends with the Rock 'N' Roll Express. Ricky Morton perfected the babyface in peril gimmick in tag matches, and these two men had the fans eating out of their palms and buying into all their matches.

It didn't matter if they faced technical experts like The Midnight Express or monsters like the Russians; they were the perfect babyfaces. They were nine-time NWA World Tag Team Champions and won 41 titles over their careers.

1 The Road Warriors

Road Warriors

When looking at the most dominant tag team in wrestling history, that is easily The Road Warriors. They were the tag team division's answer to Andre the Giant. Like Andre, they traveled the world and only made small, special stops in promotions where they were always in the main event.

They also rarely lost, and their clean pinfall losses could be counted on one hand. They only held the WWE Tag Titles twice and the NWA Tag Titles once, but they were not meant to be champions. Like Andre, they were special attractions and were one of the best tag teams to ever step into the ring.
