10 Wrestlers Who Were The Marc Mero To Their Valet's Sable

Marc Mero and Sable were an iconic duo in wrestling, and while Sable was supposed to be simply adding to his character, she ended up massively outshining him. The star power was all on her, which is why she eventually broke off and became a big name in her own right, with fans simply being more interested in seeing and hearing from Sable.

That isn't the only time that a valet has ended up being the biggest star though, as several other wrestlers ended up following in Sable's footsteps and simply connected with the audience far more than the person they were stood next to.

Maryse has been a valet a couple of times throughout her career, and while things were even when she worked with her husband, that wasn't the case when she was with Ted DiBiase Jr. Fans cared a lot more about what Maryse was doing during this period of time than the second-generation star.

Considering what Trish Stratus would go on to achieve in wrestling, it isn't really a surprise that she was able to outshine Test and Albert while she was working as their valet. The tag team were heavy hitters inside the ring and it was very entertaining to watch in the ring.

But Stratus helped take them to new levels, which was mainly because fans were interested in what she was doing. This is why Stratus was able to kick on and reach new levels of fame because she had unreachable star power.

8 Mike Knox (Kelly Kelly)

It's unclear what WWE was truly trying to achieve with this pairing as it clearly wasn't a fit that really worked. However, it did allow Kelly Kelly to shine, as she stood out and proved how popular she could be as fans loved watching her.

However, that wasn't the case for Mike Knox. He was supposed to be the star of this pairing as a heavyweight that would go onto bigger and better things, but he didn't climb up the ladder, instead, it was Kelly who did.

Essa Rios was a very underrated wrestler from his era as he could truly do it all inside the ring. From his flips and athletic moves, Essa was a joy to watch. However, he ended up being outshone be Lita who could do everything Essa did and more.

She was so different from anyone who WWE had before from an aesthetic point of view that allowed her to look like a major star. Fans were always watching out for Lita, and that allowed her to be the true star of this pairing.

5 Blake & Murphy (Alexa Bliss)

Blake and Murphy were a great team who put in a lot of fantastic work, but the duo didn't manage to capture the attention of the audience until Alexa Bliss ended up by their side. She was a brilliant valet who took her own career to new heights with the work she did during this period.

Alexa was fantastic, particularly with her promo work, which wasn't a strength of either man. Her facial expressions and moments on the outside really helped to add to their star power, which worked perfectly for them, but it was Alexa that was the highlight.

4 Santino Marella (Maria)

Jeff Jarrett is obviously a well-known star and someone who had a brilliant career in his own right, but the period of time when he was working with Debra did see her overshadow him. People wanted to talk about Debra and what she was doing over anything that Jeff did at the time.

She was the attraction during this partnership, with her methods of distraction proving to be a hit with audiences. Jeff certainly added to the dynamic, but it was Debra who was able to get all the attention and success because of their work.

Brodus Clay was simply a comedy character in WWE, with his dancing and jiving being something that entertained a specific portion of the audience. However, Naomi and Cameron on the outside ended up becoming a bigger part of the act than he did.

Their dancing caught the attention of fans at first, with their positivity and charisma shining through. But once they stepped into the ring, that is when they really shone, taking all of the love and respect the audience had given them as they went on to much bigger things.

1 The Bodydonnas (Sunny)

The Bodydonnas were not one of the greatest tag teams of all time, yet they were able to have plenty of success throughout their time in WWE. The reason for that was Sunny. She brought an incredible amount of attention to the duo, with fans being obsessed with her.

Sunny would go on to be one of the most well-known names in wrestling history, and that is no surprise. She was able to draw fans in from the way she acted in and around the ring, which was perfect for the tag team.
