Charlotte Flair Wins Raw Women's Championship At SummerSlam

An Aussie, a Scot, and an American walk into a ring ... and The Queen leaves with the gold.

Charlotte Flair is once again the Raw Women's Champion following her victory over Nikki A.S.H. and Rhea Ripley in a Triple Threat match at SummerSlam in Las Vegas, Nevada.

All three women fought like hell and did whatever they could to make sure they left the Allegiant Stadium with the gold around their waist. But in the end, it was Charlotte who emerged victorious after she made defending champ Nikki A.S.H. tap out with a lethal Figure Eight submission maneuver.

It was a match that featured all three of the Raw Women's Championship's most recent holders. As you might recall, Rhea Ripley defeated Asuke for the title at WrestleMania back in April but lost the title to Charlotte at Money In The Bank in July. Charlotte lost the tile to Nikki the next night on Raw after the latter cashed in the Money In The Bank briefcase she'd won the previous evening.

Nikki's reign as Raw Women's Champion has ended after just 33 days. The Scottish superhero began wrestling in her native Scotland in 2008. After a successful stint on the independent scene, she signed for WWE in 2016 and reported for duty at the WWE Performance Center. She was called up to the main roster in 2018, and adopted her "Almost A Superhero" gimmick earlier this year.

Unfortunately, Nikki's superhero alter-ego couldn't help her overcome the raw power and genetic superiority of Charlotte Flair, who kicks off her 6th reign as Raw Women's Championship. She is also a five-time SmackDown Women's Champion and a two-time NXT Women's Champion.

Rhea Ripley debuted for WWE in the inaugural Mae Young Classic back in 2017. The following year she reached the final of the tournament but lost to Io Shirai. Later in 2018, Ripley became the first-ever NXT UK Women’s Champion when she defeated fellow Australian Toni Storm in the finals of an eight-woman tournament to determine the inaugural champ.
