Twinkle Khanna spilled a lot of beans in a recent interview with Jackie Shroff about her interaction with astrologers and how they properly foretold her destiny not once, but twice.

Twinkle Khanna claimed in an interview with Jackie Shroff for Tweak India that while she never believed in astrology, her late father, actor Rajesh Khanna, did. Her father was connected with an astrologer, according to her, who not only foretold her marriage to Akshay Kumar but also that she would become a writer.

“I don’t believe in astrology, but my father used to tell me stuff… He wasn’t an astrologer, but he had an astrologer, and before I met my husband, the astrologer told him (Rajesh), ‘You’ll marry Akshay Kumar.’ I responded, ‘Who?’
‘ The complete name. ‘You’ll marry Akshay Kumar,’ she said. “I didn’t even know who he was back then.”

When she married Akshay Kumar in 2001, the astrologer’s prediction came true for her. Interestingly, this was not the first instance in which astrology’s precision astounded Twinkle. The same astrologer had foretold that she would become a writer in another encounter, which she did years later.

“After a long time, (Rajesh) invited that astrologer to his house for coffee. ‘How about my business?’ I asked, even though I don’t usually ask people these questions. ‘You will become a writer,’ he added. And it had been 20 years since I had written anything. ‘Tell me about your sajawat ka business, what are you pakaoing me, writer banega garbage,’ I said. “And now…” she continued.

But how did the subject of astrology come up on the chat show? Jackie Shroff was discussing his father, Kakubhai Shroff, being an astrologer with Twinkle Khanna. Shroff reflected on how his father’s prediction regarding his brother turned out to be correct.

“Bhai ko bola tha, ‘aaj kharab din hai, mat jaana bahar,”. His brother worked as a mill worker in Century mills. ‘Don’t go to your mill today,’ he said, and he didn’t. “However, he went down to save someone in the sea and perished since he didn’t know how to swim,” he explained.

Jackie further said that his father rightly predicted that he will an actor, and he was right. He was close to Natubhai Ambani and Kokilaben Ambani, telling her that her husband will grow up to be a big man. “Gandho thayo che (he has gone insane),” Dhirubhai used to say.

People make light of astrology, according to Jackie, yet he has personally witnessed astrologers’ predictions come true for not only himself but others as well.
