Does Kyler Murray Have Homework? (& 9 More Questions NFL Fans Have About Him)
Kyler Murray is the current starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals. A current dual-threat passer, he's one of the more polarizing quarterbacks in the league. While some fans believe Murray could emerge as a superstar and future Super Bowl champion, others believe that he's too inconsistent to last in the league for any meaningful amount of time.

The polarization makes sense, as Murray has made headlines for both good and bad reasons since being drafted into the NFL. Furthermore, many of those headlines have come for off-the-field reasons, which doesn't help matters. For those who have a lot of questions about Murray, we have the answers.

Kyler Murray began his college career as a massively hyped prospect for Texas A&M in 2015. As a freshman, he badly struggled. He wound up throwing for more interceptions than touchdowns and wound up transferring to Oklahoma the following year.
While he was Baker Mayfield's backup for his first season at the university, he became the starter the following year. As the starting quarterback in Lincoln Riley's passer-friendly system, Murray lit up the Big 12 in his senior season.

For his efforts in his senior year, Kyler Murray won the 2018 Heisman Trophy Award. He wound up getting 2,167 votes with Tua Tagovailoa, the runner-up receiving 1,871 total votes. The Alabama quarterback had the most votes ever for a runner-up.

Sadly for Murray, it was Tagovailoa who got the last laugh. Oklahoma and Alabama faced off in the 2018 Orange Bowl, the opening round of the College Football Playoffs. The Nick Saban-led squad wound up winning 45-34.
8 Did He Play Baseball?
Part of the hype around Kyler Murray in college was that not only was he a fantastic football player, but he was also an incredible baseball player. He played as a left-fielder, and similar to his football career didn't blow up until his senior season.
Playing for the Harwich Mariners of the Cape Cod Baseball League, Murray batted .296 with ten home runs, 47 RBIs, and ten stolen bases. Following that season, he was drafted ninth overall by the Oakland Athletics.

Despite being drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the first round, Kyler Murray announced his intentions to play football professionally instead. As of now, the team retains his rights if he were to ever change his mind, but that's not likely.
Murray had a lot of hype and was selected first overall by the Arizona Cardinals. With that, he was paired with quarterback-guru and new head coach Kliff Kingsbury.
6 How Tall is He?
Kyler Murray being drafted first overall was a bit surprising at the time. The reason was twofold. Firstly, the team had just drafted Josh Rosen in the first round the year prior, and it's incredibly rare to give up on a first-round pick that early.
The other reason is that Murray is incredibly short for a quarterback in the NFL. The quarterback checks in at 5'10 and is the shortest passer to ever be drafted in the first round.
5 Does He Play Video Games?
Kyler Murray is seemingly the jack of all trades when it comes to competition. Not only is he a professional football player, could be a professional baseball player if he wanted, and is a professional E-Sports player.
In April 2021, Murray signed with the FAZE Clan, a popular E-Sports team. The quarterback doesn't play for the team but is signed with them to create content. The signing was an easy decision, as Murray is a popular streamer on Twitch and an avid fan of Call of Duty.

In the NFL, there are really only a couple of metrics that can be used to gauge a player's value. One of the most important ways to do so is to see if they've made the Pro Bowl. While it's not a fun game to watch, one only makes it if they're a top player in their position.
For his part, Murray has made the Pro Bowl twice, in 2020 and 2021 respectively. Taking a quick look at his numbers for those two seasons, the nod was clearly deserved.

Kyler Murray has earned a lot of accolades, scored a lot of touchdowns, and reached superstardom in the NFL. However, there's still one big thing that he's missing, and it's a single playoff victory. He's only played in one playoff game, facing the Los Angeles Rams in 2021.

In that outing, Murray badly struggled. He completed just 55.9% of his passes, as he threw for 137 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions. The Cardinals wound up losing 34-11.

Kyler Murray's 2022 NFL season has sadly come to a close. Despite high hopes from the Arizona Cardinals, the team got off to a disappointing start, as they were 4-8 heading into a date with the New England Patriots in week 14.
Sadly for the young superstar, his season came to a close in the first quarter. While Murray was running, he suffered a non-contact injury, later revealed to be an ACL injury. With that, Colt McCoy has been named the Cardinals' starting quarterback for the rest of the season.
1 Does He Have Homework?
Part of the reason why Kyler Murray is seen as a bit of a lazy player by some fans pertains to a certain contract clause that leaked earlier this year. When the quarterback signed a massive clause with the Cardinals, the contract included a clause for him to do four hours of independent study per week.
Not too long after the special clause in the contract leaked, it was removed. That's good news for Murray, as it means that he no longer has to do homework.
