Every Stable & Tag Team That Cody Rhodes Has Been Part Of, Ranked Worst To Best

Cody Rhodes has had a fantastic career at this point, whether that is in WWE, AEW, or elsewhere. He is a great talker and a talented in-ring worker, which has translated into a solid singles run. However, while he always works well alone, throughout his time in wrestling, Cody has also been part of several tag teams and stables.

Some of those have had huge amounts of success, becoming iconic over time. These have only helped to grow Cody's career overall, but not every partnership he has had ended up being great, as they have proven to be a mixed bag throughout his time so far.

8 Cosmic Wasteland

Cosmic Wasteland

Out of all Cody Rhodes' groups and partnerships, Cosmic Wasteland was the biggest of his time and ability. At the time, he was working as Stardust, but the gimmick wasn't getting over, and that led to him being partnered with The Ascencion. The idea was that it would give them all something to do.

On paper, that was a smart idea, but in the grand scheme of things, it made no impact for any of them. The gimmick was never explained and led to some random promos. They never had any major storylines overall, and this was one that fans typically forget about Cody.

7 Hardcore Holly

This is another period of Cody Rhodes' career that often goes under the radar. While he and Hardcore Holly worked well together in the ring, at this point, Cody hadn't developed any personality or gimmick. That side of him began when he turned on Holly, which is something that took his career to a new level.

However, there is no denying that Holly had a good impact on Cody as a professional. He was an experienced veteran by this stage in his career, therefore it was a strong connection to help the young wrestler, with Holly taking him under his wing.

6 Drew McIntyre

Another wrestler that Cody Rhodes held tag team gold with was Drew McIntyre, and they worked well together. Inside the ring, their matches were a lot of fun, as they had a strong connection. They were two great wrestlers that everyone felt should have been higher up the card.

While they could have gone on to establish a great run together, WWE ended up splitting them up shortly after they lost the titles. It was a shame as this could have been a much more memorable run had they been provided the time.

5 Damien Sandow

Team Rhodes Scholars

Another mid-card partnership that Cody Rhodes ended up in was with Damien Sandow. They worked under the name of Team Rhodes Scholars, which proved to be an act that got over with the fans. They were a heel act that truly played up to the role, making it easier for fans to invest and hate them.

However, they didn't have the level of success that they should have done, as WWE didn't truly commit to them. The pair instead eventually feuded, which was one of Cody's better angles in his WWE singles run. But their partnership was also popular enough to have made a decent impact overall.

4 MJF

Cody Rhodes and MJF also ended up becoming a rival of Cody Rhodes, and a big one at that. However, before that, they worked as partners in what was quite a unique storyline. While everyone knew MJF was a top heel, Cody tried to see the good in MJF, taking him under his wing.

They did become an effective team at that point, but there were always cracks and teases behind Cody's back. It led to some very engaging moments, and they were able to tell great storylines throughout their run, which did enhance MJF's stock in the company.

3 Goldust

Cody Rhodes and his brother have had a lot of amazing moments in their career, as rivals and partners. But it is together they have done their greatest work over a lengthy period of time. He and Goldust teamed up in WWE, working together, which became a team that audiences loved.

From their battles against The Shield to The Usos, they had some amazing matches and were massively over with the fans. They then added to that legacy in AEW, with their match against The Young Bucks being an iconic one for the company.

2 Legacy

The Legacy WWE

Cody Rhodes was able to break out as a major name in WWE because of Legacy. Primarily being a tag team partner with Ted DiBiase Jr. the two men would do everything to protect Randy Orton. Because he was the top name at the time in WWE from a heel perspective, it meant that Cody got a lot of air time.

He developed massively during this period from an in-ring and promo perspective. It was the peak of his WWE career, giving him tons of opportunities to showcase himself. WWE made him a focused talent here, and that within itself was a key moment for him.

1 Bullet Club

Cody Rhodes Young Bucks

Overall, Cody Rhodes' time in the Bullet Club and with The Elite proved to be the best of his career to this point. After betting on himself and leaving WWE, Cody's decision to align himself with them proved to be crucial. It took him to an entirely new level, truly becoming the main event star fans felt he could be.

Whether it was teaming up with The Young Bucks or Hangman Page, Cody was always involved. As a singles name, he got the chance to develop his career in bigger spots. He worked around the world and helped create an entire wrestling company because of the groups popularity.
