Sheamus has become a big player on the Raw brand again and is adding another noteworthy chapter to his career. The past decade in WWE has given Sheamus various characters and roles that came with mixed results. Sheamus is clearly a talented performer based on his in-ring work, but his character does not always hit the mark.

Some versions have led to huge success and stand out instantly when thinking of his career. Others have unfortunately held Sheamus back and left negatives that he never fully recovered come. Find out which memories provide those perceptions of the future Hall of Famer.
8 ECW Start
The WWE career of Sheamus started on the ECW brand when the company used it as a bridge between developmental and Raw or Smackdown. Sheamus received a push on the third brand by getting the better of Goldust and Shelton Benjamin in his initial feuds.

ECW was a tough sell for fans by the time Sheamus arrived since most gave up on it. WWE only kept Sheamus on the ECW brand for a couple of months to avoid hurting his momentum and sent him to Raw in the draft.
7 League of Nations Leader
The League of Nations was an idea meant to make Sheamus an important top star again. Sheamus won the WWE Championship and wanted back up to help him stack the odds against Roman Reigns during their feud.
Wade Barrett, Rusev, and Alberto Del Rio all joined Sheamus to make up a faction of international wrestlers. Unfortunately, the League of Nations was a huge failure and fans did not view them with any credibility after Roman easily dismantled them to end Sheamus’ title reign after a few weeks.
6 King Sheamus
WWE started to get too generic with the King of the Ring concept when bringing it back for Sheamus to win. The tournament victory led to the name change of King Sheamus becoming official as he wore a crown and acted like an actual king.
Sheamus hoped this would elevate him back into a main event spot, but he just looked silly. WWE would fall to this idea again in future years with Wade Barrett and Baron Corbin having failed runs with similar gimmicks after winning the King of the Ring tournament.
5 Recent Heel Rebranding
The time away from WWE for a few months saw Sheamus returning in 2020 with a new look. Sheamus played a heel character hoping to tap into shades of his former versions that found more success as a singles star.
The old school look represented the fighting style Sheamus wanted to bring in his return feuds against Jeff Hardy and Big E. Sheamus was struggling until moving to Raw in the draft and entering a storyline with Drew McIntyre. The real-life friendship being used saw Sheamus fitting into a main event angle organically for the first time in a long time.
4 "You Look Stupid" Rebirth
Sheamus trying to rebrand his career has unfortunately happened a few times too many with most missing the mark. The Raw after WrestleMania 31 would see another Sheamus return attacking fan favorites Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler.

Fans chanting “you look stupid” at Sheamus due to his new look of the mohawk and beard beads became a staple of his new character with chants most weeks. Bryan missing time with an injury ruined Sheamus’ first planned feud and the rest of the run was too inconsistent to get him back to the top of WWE.
3 First Face Run
WWE tried to make Sheamus a top face in 2011 when ending his heel character for the first time on the main roster. Sheamus turned face by standing up to the new top bully heel Mark Henry. The two had impressive matches with Sheamus putting over Henry ahead of Mark’s World Championship reign.
Sheamus would see a bigger push come his way in 2012 when winning the Royal Rumble match and defeating Daniel Bryan in 18 seconds to win the World Championship at WrestleMania 28. Fans turned on Sheamus due to Bryan getting buried, but he had some great matches during the title reign. WWE’s booking unfortunately ruined any chances of long-term success.
2 The Bar
WWE realized Sheamus would not thrive in the main event scene following the League of Nations failure and his final world title reign ending in disappointment. Sheamus would have a few mid-card programs before finding strong chemistry against Cesaro. The 2016 brand split started with both men entering a best of seven series for the Raw brand.
Cesaro and Sheamus had a draw in the seventh and deciding match. Mick Foley forced them to team together since the prize was a title shot. The Bar was the tag name they used and both guys found huge success together. Cesaro and Sheamus each consider The Bar among the best times in their WWE careers.
1 Dominant New Heel
The start of Sheamus’ WWE run on the main roster was the most successful time in his career based on the shocking results. Sheamus’ first program on the Raw brand was against WWE Champion John Cena.
The two having a tables match would see the audience stunned when Sheamus put Cena through a table for the surprise title change. Sheamus had a solid title reign until having to drop the belt before WrestleMania season. The next year or so for Sheamus saw him in the main event picture until he struggled to evolve and change it up.
