90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days fans have been curious about Memphis Smith's ex-husband Justin Sandoval ever since she told Hamza Moknii her big secret about him. 35-year-old Memphis saw herself getting married to Hamza within two weeks of their first meeting after having spoken to him online for merely eight months. Besides their incompatibility in bed and him lying about his real age, Memphis telling Hamza about the close relationship she has with her ex-husband had always created problems in their 90 Day Fiancé romance. Back when Memphis and Hamza had just started talking again, she went and stayed over at her ex-husband’s place for four days.
It barely took a minute for the very jealous Hamza to call off his wedding with Memphis after hearing her confession. Alas, Memphis hadn’t told Hamza all the details. Even though Memphis is a successful nurse practitioner now, she had once been going through a dark time after failing her state board exams. Memphis explained that she was depressed and laid in bed for approximately four days at her ex-husband’s place. Memphis has a 13-year-old daughter, Kennedi, from a former relationship. She also shares custody of her six-year-old son with her ex-husband Justin. Memphis’ first husband had to make sure that the kids were clothed and cared for when she was unwell. Hamza finally understood where Memphis was coming from but did ask her to consider him as her support system from now on - not her ex-husband.
According to an InTouch report, it seems like Memphis’ ex-husband Justin lives in Muskegon, MI, just like her. Like Memphis, Justin is also 35 years old. The report says that it’s exactly clear when Memphis and Justin got married. It turns out that they were married when Memphis gave birth to their son in the fall of 2014. Justin also seems to have been a doting dad to Memphis’ older daughter, Kennedi, during their marriage. Unfortunately, though, things turned sour between Memphis and Justin when she filed for divorce in November 2015. Their divorce was reportedly finalized in February 2017.
Memphis has talked about Justin several times on Before The 90 Days. It was after her divorce that Memphis learned how to be a more self-sufficient woman to be able to support her children. Memphis spent eight years building her career and graduated with a masters’ degree. Even more commendable is that Memphis did it despite having been in 12 different foster homes until she was 19 after she was taken away at 11 years old due to her mom’s crack addiction. Memphis loved being an independent woman enjoying the life she built for herself but thought a partner’s presence in it would make it even better.
While she did find the perfect man in Hamza, she doesn’t want to make the “same mistakes” she made when she was married to Justin, which didn’t “pan out” the way she wanted it to. For that to happen, Memphis wants to protect her assets using a prenup. But with time having run out and her wedding a day away on 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days, Memphis mostly won’t get Hamza to sign the agreement. With that said, it's unclear what went wrong between Memphis and her ex-husband Justin for her to be so worried about the prenup thing. Memphis hasn’t revealed if Justin is still in her life to this date considering that she may have gotten married to Hamza when the show was filmed. While the marriage may have soured, though, Memphis found a friend in Justin that she can count on whenever she needs help.
