Jungle Boy Is Technically Krusty The Clown's Nephew
No, you did not misread the headline. Jungle Boy can sort of claim that he is the nephew of a very famous fictional character. Let us explain.
AEW's first year has been a mixed bag. Although most of what the company has done has worked and worked well, other things have not so much. Considering the promotion was only revealed to the world one year ago, its first show didn't happen until May, and then its regular TV show didn't start airing until October, we would say a few mistakes here and there are understandable.
One of the funniest criticisms AEW has received thus far is the inclusion of Marko Stunt on its roster. A lot of wrestling fans take issue with someone so short putting up a fight against other wrestlers who tower over him. The reason we find this complaint amusing is that fans are questioning the believability of someone Stunt's height wrestling when one of his tag team partners is meant to be a dinosaur.

The third member of Stunt's quirky trio is Jungle Boy. Another wrestler with a unique gimmick that some fans might not be quite sure of just yet. Turns out if Jack Perry, the man behind the Jungle Boy gimmick, really wanted to, he could make his character even stranger. That's because, as was highlighted recently on Reddit, Jungle Boy is Krusty the Clown's nephew.
In case you didn't already know, Jungle Boy is the son of the late, great actor, Luke Perry. Perry appeared in season four, episode 22 of The Simpsons and played Krusty the Clown's worthless half brother. Starting to put the pieces together? Since Perry is Krusty's half brother, then that makes the fictional clown Jungle Boy's uncle.
We're having a little fun with this, of course, as was the person who originally posted it on Reddit. It will be fun to see if AEW also has a little fun with it in the future. We're not suggesting Jungle Boy make his affiliation to the iconic clown a full-blown part of his gimmick, but a mention of it in a promo or by someone on commentary would be pretty amusing. Here's hoping we hear a reference to it on AEW TV in 2020.
