Kurt Angle Says He Wouldn't Be Shocked To See Ronda Rousey Return To WWE

Kurt Angle says he wouldn't be at all surprised should Ronda Rousey return to WWE and has expressed an understanding of her decision to step away given her activity since age 5.

Rousey hasn't wrestled since losing the Raw Women's Championship to Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 35 in 2018. The UFC Hall of Famer suffered a broken hand in the match but indicated she was taking a break to start a family.

It's been rumored she could make that long-awaited return at WrestleMania 37 in April and speculation should only intensify in the buildup to what WWE hopes will be the event that welcomes fans back.

Angle, for one, would not be shocked to see the former Raw Women's Champion fashion a return.

"No, I wouldn't be shocked. Ronda, she is still young, and she still has that fire in her eyes. I don't think she is done completely," he stated on his new podcast, The Kurt Angle Show on AdFreeShows. "I think she wanted to take a break. I do believe she was trying to get pregnant, I don't know if they continued to try to, but I think Ronda decided to take a break. She has been competing for her whole life. Judo since she was 5, Olympics, then MMA, UFC, then WWE, she never stopped. She needed a break, and I think that's what she is doing is taking a couple-year break."

Like A Sister To Him

Angle also discussed his relationship with Ronda, claiming they developed a brother-sister bond while working together. The Olympic Gold medalist revealed he became close with his understudy pretty quickly.

"We were more of a brother-sister relationship," he noted. "We grew close very quickly, and we were flying on the company jet, going to training and, you know, trying to be around each other, spending more time together."
