Matt Riddle Reportedly Denies WWE Suspension Rumors
WWE Superstar Matt Riddle was carried out of the ring on a stretcher following a (kayfabe) brutal assault at the hands of Solo Sikoa on the December 5 edition of Raw. It certainly appeared that Riddle was being written off TV, and a subsequent Bodyslam.net report stated that Riddle had been suspended for violating WWE's wellness policy.
According to recent Wrestling Observer report, a source close to Riddle recently claimed that Riddle has denied the initial report. Per the Observer, Riddle said the hiatus isn't drug related and that he is taking time off to deal with personal issues following his divorce. WWE usually releases a statement when it decides to suspend one of its Superstars for violating the wellness policy, but at the time of writing, there's been no word from the promotion on Riddle's situation.

The initial Bodyslam.net report alleged that Riddle first failed a drug test in the summer, which is why his scheduled match with Seth Rollins at SummerSlam was postponed to Clash At The Castle. In his report, the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer highlighted the fact that Riddle wasn't absent for 30 days--WWE's standard wellness policy violation suspension length.
Riddle signed for WWE in 2018 following a successful stint on th independent scene. He reported for duty at the Performance Center and originally performed on the NXT brand. Riddle’s main roster WWE debut occurred back in June 2020, when the “King of Bros” got a surprise win over AJ Styles on Friday Night SmackDown.
Prior to getting into wrestling, Riddle was a shoot MMA fighter who worked for companies like UFC and Bellator. When his MMA career didn't pan out the way he had hoped, he fell out of love with the sport and decided to peruse a new path.
