Pokémon Go: How To Catch a Shiny Hoppip
Shiny Hoppip will be appearing more frequently in the wild for Community Day. This is an upcoming Pokémon Go event happening in February.
Trainers will have the opportunity to find and capture a Shiny Hoppip in Pokémon Go very soon. This Grass- and Flying-type Pokémon originates from Pokémon Gold and Silver, the second generation titles of the series. It's grown to be a fan-favorite due to its adorable smile and how it casually loves to float with minimal effort. Soon, an upcoming Community Day in Pokémon Go will focus on Hoppip, which will cause it to appear in the wild much more frequently. A new Community Day event focuses on a single Pokémon and offers trainers additional bonuses every month. This will be the player's best bet to get their hands on Shiny Hoppip.
Hoppip Community Day will take place on Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Hoppip will appear all around the map and in raid battles for six hours. Not only that, but if trainers are lucky, they can encounter a Shiny Hoppip as well. Instead of Hoppip's normal pink skin, Shiny Hoppip is green like Skiploom, Hoppip's evolution. In addition, it will display a sparkle when it appears on the screen. The base odds of finding a Shiny Pokémon in Pokémon Go is 1/500. Although, this changes during Community Day.
To find and capture a Shiny Hoppip, the trainer's best bet is to play during Hoppip Community Day. The Shiny Odds for Hoppip are drastically increased from 1/500 to 1/25, making it much easier to encounter and will have an increased spawn rate for the six hours the event is active. Here are a few things trainers can do to make their hunt a bit easier.
Catching Shiny Hoppip in Pokémon Go
- The Fast Catch Method allows players to skip the capture animation when capturing Pokémon. Of course, there is a chance the Pokémon will still break out, but doing this method will save tons of time between encounters. Of course, less time between encounters means a higher chance of finding Shiny Hoppip.
- Run Away: Running away from wild encounters will also save time. Although, the player will miss out on the XP from capturing it.
It is still possible to find a Shiny Hoppip outside of Community Day, but it will be much more challenging as the Pokémon doesn't spawn frequently. Although, the upcoming Pokémon Go Johto Tour will focus on creatures like Hoppip. The event will take place in February and will give trainers the opportunity to find every Shiny Johto Pokémon, including Shiny legendaries. It is a premium event where the player will need to purchase a ticket to participate, but there are a handful of free-to-play bonuses as well. The ticket will cost about $12 and will provide new special research tasks and rewards.
