Rhea Ripley To Get Revamped Women's Title
Much like Asuka received a new championship title on SmackDown this week, it is expected SmackDown Women's Champion, Rhea Ripley will be getting a new title of her own. Whether that happens this week or in the weeks to come is unclear, but Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful is reporting that a new belt is rumored to be on the way.
Sean Sapp reported on Fightful Select that Asuka being given a new championship was meant as a means “to clean up the Smackdown/Raw Championship situation that was muddied due to the draft." If that's accurate, it only makes sense that Ripley would also be getting a new title as she's the SmackDown Women's Champion on the Raw brand. Asuka's new title is called the WWE Women's Championship. Ripley's could have something connected to Women's World Champion or Women's Universal Champion, but the belt is to be re-designed and probably renamed.
As for what the design will be, that too is unclear. Fightful's explained, “They also said that they wanted Asuka’s title to look like Reigns’ to help portray it on an even plane, as has been the case for the past several years. We’re told that Rhea Ripley’s championship will be receiving some other sort of adjustment as well, either in name or appearance.” Could it be designed to look a lot like Seth Rollins' new championship?

WWE Is Removing Brand Association
The fact that WWE is getting rid of all links to a specific brand makes a lot of sense, especially since the titleholders didn't just simply swap titles as the respective champions had done in years past. That's probably a win, even if the WWE Universe isn't necessarily in love with the idea that the titles don't have a unique feel and look like copycats of their male counterparts.
Whatever happens with Ripley's title, there are bound to be fans who are unhappy. She either gets an identical belt or a new one. If the latter, fans will ask why WWE didn't change Asuka's belt.
