Riddle Wanted To Turn Popular Tag Team Into A Faction

One of the more popular singles stars in WWE, and a performer who has been part of many tag team alliances since joining the main roster, WWE's Matt Riddle expressed his desire to form a stable and be part of a faction. Noting that he sees a lot of groups and wrestlers who have allies, it was something he's wanted to do, but not yet had the chance to.

During a recent appearance on The Bump, the 'Original Bro' said that he wanted his tag team with RK-Bro to eventually be a faction. His first idea was to have it be himself with Randy Orton and, eventually add Edge, calling it Rated RK-Bro. Clearly, with Orton's injury, that was never something WWE could consider. Riddle then noted that he envisioned his faction being able to compete against teams like Imperium.

As mentioned, Riddle's wish for a stable remains unfulfilled as Orton has been dealing with a serious back injury since May of the previous year, leaving uncertainty surrounding his return to the ring. There has been talk about whether he's close to a return, but no talk about if he'll pick up his storyline where it left off with Riddle if Orton does make it back.

Riddle Doesn't Feel Like He's Got Allies

Certainly not a loner, and able to make friends, Riddle did admit to feeling the absence of dependable allies. Thinking he's been somewhat isolated, especially with Orton out and Drew McIntyre occupied with whatever he's got going on, The King of Bros acknowledged the strength that comes with belonging to a faction, with members supporting and lifting each other up during challenging times—a support system that he currently lacks.

He noted, "I'll be honest, as a guy kinda on his own, especially with Randy [Orton] gone a bit and Drew [McIntyre] is always doing something, all these factions have people to depend on. If they're down, they have someone to live them up, and right now I really don't have that and it's a little unfortunate."
