Roderick Butler Death; Identified As Victim In Deadly Shooting Near Uptown Dallas Bank

According to the police, a male who was 46 years old was shot and murdered on Wednesday in the vicinity of a Wells Fargo bank in Uptown Dallas.

Approximately five o’clock in the afternoon, the gunshot took place in the 2200 block of McKinney Avenue, which is located close to the Maple-Routh Connection, as reported by the police.

The police determined that Roderick Butler was the person who had been killed. The body of Butler was discovered on the sidewalk at the spot, according to the police.

The fact that both men were homeless has been established by the investigators, as has the fact that Butler was killed with an AR-15 gun. On account of the fact that the weapon was not found at the scene, it is possible that the suspect is still armed.

According to Jesse Carr, the Senior Public Information Officer for the Dallas Police Department, “Absolutely a possibility and it’s something we are considering, but it’s part of the ongoing investigation.” These words were spoken by Carr.

According to the authorities, the shooting will be considered an isolated occurrence.

It was said by Carr that “we do not believe there is any danger to the general public.”

During the inquiry, the police are requesting assistance from the general public.

“We encourage anyone who may have seen something or heard something to come forward and share that information with us,” said Carr. “Maybe they may have seen something or heard something.”
