Roman Reigns Hits Special Milestone As Undisputed WWE Universal Champion

Roman Reigns has hit a plethora of incredible milestones during his 26-month run as the Universal Champion, and you can add yet another one to his resumé.

Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania 38, a "Winner Takes All" bout, to claim both the WWE and Universal Championships. The Tribal Chief just hit the 200-day milestone as the holder of both titles, making him the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion for 200 days (and counting).

Not only that, but Reigns is closing in on 800 days as the Universal Championship holder (782 days and counting). His title reign began at the Payback 2020 pay-per-view on Aug. 30, where Reigns outlasted Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt in a triple threat match to become the champion.

Even more incredibly, Reigns has yet to close cleanly during his current Universal title run. In fact, his pinfall loss came via King Corbin at the 2019 TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs on Dec. 15. Even that wasn't exactly a clean loss, as Corbin received help from The Revival and Dolph Ziggler to win the showdown.

Reigns' next title defense will take place against YouTube star Logan Paul at the Nov. 5 Crown Jewel 2022 pay-per-view, which will run at Mrsool Park in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Don't Expect Reigns' Run To End Any Time Soon

There's simply no realistic scenario in which Paul cleanly defeats Reigns to win the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Reigns gets plenty of time off now under his new WWE contract, but even if he were to compete at Survivor Series WarGames (Nov. 26 at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts), it's unlikely that he would lose his title there as well.

WrestleMania 39 (Apr. 1-2 weekend at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California), feels like the most realistic time and place for Reigns to lose his championship. The Rock has been widely rumored as Reigns' WM 39 opponent, but that hasn't been confirmed. Cody Rhodes is another strong candidate, and it would certainly make sense for him to defeat Reigns there for the title.
