Roman Reigns Sends A Warning To Edge After Making His WrestleMania Decision

As expected, Royal Rumble winner Edge opted to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 37.

The WWE Hall of Famer revealed his decision during Sunday's Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, right after Reigns soundly defeated Daniel Bryan to retain the Universal Championship.

Edge attacked Reigns following his title defense, and WWE officially confirmed the match for WrestleMania on social media soon after.

On Monday morning, Edge added more hype for their match by tweeting out the following:

Three hours later, Reigns responded to the tweet and issued a warning to the Rated-R Superstar:

Edge confronted WWE Champion Drew McIntyre and NXT Champion Finn Bálor following his WrestleMania victory. He expressed plenty of interest in facing all three champions, but the signs always pointed to a showdown with Reigns.

Soon after the Royal Rumble, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that it would be Edge vs. Reigns at WrestleMania 37. It was only a matter of time until it became official.

Reigns debuted on the WWE roster in 2012, more than a year after Edge initially retired. They shared the ring for the first time at last year's Royal Rumble, when Edge made his unforgettable return to wrestling.

Edge advanced to the final three before he was taken out by Reigns, who was last eliminated by McIntyre.

More than a year later, WWE is now building towards the ultimate dream match between the Hall of Famer and one of the marquee superstars of his era. It simply can't come soon enough.

Reigns Was The Right Choice

As a heel, Reigns is enjoying perhaps his greatest run yet in the WWE. He's already care of several big-named stars on SmackDown, and a feud with Edge will only elevate his character's stardom and momentum. The two have already performed several quality promos together, and the buildup for their match won't lack in creativity and brilliance. The match, simply put, should go down as a true WrestleMania classic.
