Stephen Collins Cut From Scandal
BuzzFeed first reported Scandal's decision to cut Collins from an upcoming episode.
In late September, Collins tweeted about his upcoming guest stint. "Happy to say I did another episode of #Scandal. Had a gr8 time. Wish I could say more but @ShondaRhimes would have to kill me," he tweeted.
Following the release of the tapes, Collins was fired from the upcoming flick Ted 2 and resigned from the SAG-Aftra board.
Collins spent 11 seasons as the Camden family patriarch on 7th Heaven. Since the allegations surfaced, several networks have dropped reruns of the wholesome series.
"As a top family-friendly network, we are deeply concerned for the families that are potentially affected by these disturbing allegations surrounding actor Stephen Collins," UP TV President Charley Humbard said in a statement. "7th Heaven has been a beloved family show and a fan-favorite on our network. We have made the decision to remove the series from our schedule effective at 5 p.m. ET today.
In addition to his previous Scandal and 7th Heaven work, Collins' TV credits also include Revolution, Devious Maids and Private Practice. On Private Practice, Collins played dad to Kate Walsh's character.
