The Undertaker Will Be At WWE NXT Next Week
Highlights
- AEW and WWE are going head-to-head on Tuesday night in a ratings battle, with both companies pulling out all the stops.
- WWE is countering AEW's Tuesday Night Dynamite by bringing in big names like John Cena and Paul Heyman to appear on NXT.
- The Undertaker's rumored appearance in Orlando next week adds another potential weapon to WWE's arsenal, although it's unclear if he will actually be on camera.
The Monday Night Wars might long be over, but next Tuesday we're getting a Tuesday Night War. With AEW Dynamite set to make a rare appearance on Tuesday, both AEW and WWE are going all out to be the one who wins in the ratings.
WWE has already announced that John Cena, Cody Rhodes, and Paul Heyman will be on NXT next Tuesday as a way to counter AEW coming to their night. Many fans have had fun with this obvious attempt to take down AEW, with some joking that Roman Reigns or The Rock would be announced next. They might not have been too far off. Another massive name could be the next to show up in Orlando.
According to PWInsider, "While there is no word yet as to whether he will appear on camera, the word around the WWE Performance Center yesterday and today has been that The Undertaker will be in Orlando, Florida next week, including Tuesday when WWE NXT has loaded up a big episode to go against the Tuesday Night AEW Dynamite broadcast on TBS.
"Again, this doesn't mean Undertaker will be appearing, but certainly he has to be considered another arrow in WWE's quiver if they choose to go that route.
"Undertaker visits from time to time to give advice to PC talents, so this could simply be that, but the timing, obviously, is interesting."

AEW & WWE Are Putting On Huge Shows Against Each Other
AEW and NXT were rivals in Dynamite's early days, when NXT was already on Wednesdays. When NXT lost the ratings war to the new, exciting Dynamite, they moved to their now home on Tuesday nights. With Major League Baseball playoffs airing next Wednesday on TBS, Dynamite is running on Tuesday. AEW has a stellar card announced. Adam Copeland will have his first AEW match against Luchasaurus. Jon Moxley, who lost his International Championship to Rey Fenix after suffering a real life concussion, looks to get his title back. Bryan Danielson and Swerve Strickland will be in a battle for a shot at the TNT Championship. Saraya will be defending her AEW Women's World Championship against Hikaru Shida. Also set for Title Tuesday are Jay White vs "Hangman" Adam Page, and Powerhouse Hobbs vs Chris Jericho.
WWE could have just accepted the loss. It wouldn't be embarrassing for WWE's third brand to lose to AEW's number one show, but instead, WWE is going all in. More main roster stars have been showing up in NXT lately, leading to an increase in ratings. The next episode will see two current NXT greats, Carmelo Hayes and Bron Breakker, renewing their rivalry, but now with John Cena and Paul Heyman in their respective corners. Cody Rhodes will also be on hand for a major announcement. Perhaps The Undertaker will just be there to visit, but if that's all it is, it certainly is very strange timing that this day of all days would be the one where he comes in to say hi. Don't be surprised to see a Deadman on your TV next Tuesday.
