ESPN.com's Mike Coppinger has reported that the Vasiliy Lomachenko-George Kambosos fight for the vacant IBF lightweight title is scheduled for May 12 in Perth. The fight will be broadcast on ESPN in the U.S. on the night of May 11. Kambosos is entering the bout following a controversial decision win over Maxi Hughes in June of the previous year. The judges' scores were 117-111 and 115-113 in favor of Kambosos, with the third judge scoring it as a 114-114 draw. Despite the contentious decision, Kambosos Jr became the mandatory challenger for the IBF title, setting the stage for the upcoming clash with Lomachenko.
On the undercard, the Moloney twins, Jason and Andrew, are set to appear. Jason Moloney retained his bantamweight title with a thrilling majority-decision victory over Saul Sanchez on a Saturday night before the announcement.
