In the past year in AEW, Jamie Hayter has quickly become one of the biggest fan favorites in the promotion. Initially making a one-off appearance back in 2019 on an episode of Dynamite, Hayter returned at the premiere edition of Rampage as the enforcer for Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. Since then, she has steadily grown in popularity and fans have seen her evolve from being Baker’s enforcer to a singles star in her own right. Already a former AEW Women’s World Champion, Hayter has shown that she is more than capable of putting on match of the night contenders with anyone she steps into the ring with. Unfortunately, fans have not seen her on television in quite some time due to injury. Recent updates have also revealed that she likely will not be competing at AEW All In at Wembley Stadium.

Jamie Hayter Will Not Be Returning To AEW Soon
Hayter has been dealing with an undisclosed injury for the last few months. And this something that was present while she was still AEW Women’s World Champion, having to be pulled from a match because she was not cleared to compete. Hayter did end up competing at Double or Nothing 2023, where she lost the AEW Women’s World Title in a rematch against Toni Storm, who she beat for the title in the first place. Since then, Hayter has not been seen in any capacity on AEW television. Updates have arisen recently, with major implications for her status at the All In show on August, 27, 2023.
Dave Meltzer (h/t TJR Wrestling) stated recently that “We don’t have much on Jamie Hayter but there has been at least talk she won’t make it back for Wembley, which obviously would be the goal if possible.” Furthermore, Fightful (h/t 411Mania) stated that there is no timetable for when Hayter will be in an AEW ring. Joseph Lee of 411Mania wrote regarding Fightful’s update, “The report notes that there some tentative ideas as well as the hope Hayter could make it back, but things are worse than were originally thought. The report notes that Hayter returning by the end of the year is not expected to happen and there’s no timetable on when she can come back.”

Not only that, but she is also going to miss AEW’s debut show in England, which is her home country. It was also something in promos that Hayter spoke of as she wanted to enter Wembley Stadium holding the AEW Women’s World Championship. Unfortunately, that will not be a reality at the upcoming All In event.
Jamie Hayter Has Shown How Much Of An Asset She Is To AEW
Since Hayter’s time as an official AEW roster member began, fans steadily saw her grow to become a true breakout star and major name in the promotion. She had debuted as Baker’s enforcer early-on, but the two steadily grew to become a strong tag team in AEW’s women’s divison. At the same time, she also was making a name for herself as a major singles star as well. After receiving a couple of opportunities prior for the AEW Women’s World Title, Hayter finally reached the top of AEW when she defeated Toni Storm at Full Gear 2022 to become the champion.

Throughout Hayter’s reign, she put on some truly great matches as she defended the title against the likes of Hikaru Shida, Ruby Soho, Saraya, and Riho. In addition, she also competed in a few eliminator matches for a shot at her title against The Bunny and Emi Sakura. The biggest rivalry of Hayter’s reign as champion involved herself, Baker, and a number of other AEW homegrown stars battling against The Outcasts, consisting of Saraya, Storm, and Soho. This feud carried on into Double or Nothing when Storm beat Hayter to become the very first two-time AEW Women’s World Champion.
It is truly unfortunate that Hayter will be out of action for the foreseeable future. With no timetable for her injury, there is no telling when she will be back competing in an AEW ring. Especially with All In coming up soon, it was awful timing for an injury to occur. However, Hayter is certainly one of the most talented competitors on AEW’s roster and one of the most popular homegrown stars. When she is back and at 100% health again, fans certainly will be excited to see Jamie Hayter take her spot back as a major name in the promotion.
