While the Attitude Era was known for some of the craziest storylines and segments in wrestling history, the PG Era changed the dynamic of WWE programming completely. For most fans, the Attitude Era was the time when wrestling used to be fun, but it was also an era where WWE produced some of the most disgusting storylines in history.

Turning the company PG was a way to move on from the "gory crap", as Vince said about the Attitude Era. But despite being a family-friendly show, the company still sometimes produces moments that were disgusting to watch.

10 Paige Mentions Reid Flair

Paige and Charlotte Flair's rivalry in 2015 took a tasteless turn when The Anti-Diva mocked Flair's deceased brother, Reid Flair, in a promo. WWE received a ton of criticism for this and this wasn't even discussed in advance with Ric Flair and the Hall of Famer was heartbroken after this segment happened.

Both women were also against this segment but WWE pushed them to continue. While this was WWE's way of making this rivalry more personal, a lot of fans didn't like it.

9 Ric Flair Kisses Becky Lynch At Royal Rumble

At Royal Rumble 2016, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch faced each other for the Divas Championship. There came a spot in the match when Ric Flair, who was standing on the ringside, grabbed Lynch and forcibly kissed her. A lot of fans were outraged by this because they considered it sexual harassment.

WWE even published this moment on the internet but after some backlash, they took it down. Even on the WWE Network, fans now see an edited version of this match.

8 Bobby Lashley's Sisters Show Up

While Bobby Lashley dominated Raw in the last few months, he was in a much different position some time ago. Once Sami Zayn revealed "the truth" about Lashley's sister on Raw. Fans initially thought that Bobby's actual sisters will come and drop a bomb, but this wasn't the case.

Zayn brought three men who were disguised as Bobby's sisters. The entire segment was disgusting to watch, even during the end when Lashley beat all of them down.

7 John Cena Pours BBQ Sauce On Michael Cole

In 2012, John Cena personally chose Michael Cole as his Raw opponent one night. During their match, Cena stripped Michael Cole to his underwear and made him apologize to Jerry "The King" Lawler and Jim Ross.

Then, he poured JR's BBQ sauce all over Cole's body before cooling him down with a fire extinguisher. WWE thought this segment was funny because Michael was hated by most fans, but in reality, this segment was one of the worse things that happened that year.

6 King Corbin Tastes Dog Food

The rivalry between Roman Reigns and King Corbin never seemed to end. WWE just dragged their storyline over and over again until it finally ended on SmackDown. Reigns and Corbin faced each other in a six-man tag team match with a Loser Eats Dog Food stipulation.

After Reigns won the match with The Usos, it was time for the King to eat some dog food. His partners, Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler weren't there to save him. Corbin was humiliated by Roman and his cousins with dog food and the segment was pretty gross. It was even worse than the time when Corbin had done the exact thing to Reigns in 2019.

5 LayCool Dubs Mickie James As "Piggie James"

In 2009, Mickie James was a part of a storyline with Layla and Michell McCool bullying James. They insulted her about her weight and dubbed her as "Piggie James." For a former five-time Women's Champion in WWE, this was an insult.

This body-shaming storyline was supposed to bring more heat to LayCool but the actual payoff was worse. It did make them bigger heels, but at the same time, this storyline was one of the worst things we've seen in WWE.

4 Ruby Riott Prints Jim Neidhart On A Table

While WWE using death in a storyline isn't a new thing, it's rarely cool to do so. In 2018, Natalya feuded with Ruby Riott. Only a few weeks ago, Natalya had lost her father Jim Neidhart.

Again, WWE used a wrestler's death in a storyline to make it personal. Before their TLC match, Riott unveiled a special table for their match that had Neidhart printed on it. A lot of fans considered this as disrespect to a wrestling legend and weren't okay with it.

3 Dean Ambrose Mocks Roman Reigns

"The Lunatic Fringe" Dean Ambrose turned heel against Seth Rollins on the same night when Roman Reigns announced his battle with leukemia. Around a month later, Ambrose cut a promo where he mentioned Reigns' and his illness in a promo against Rollins.

A lot of people were upset at WWE for this because Roman was battling for his life with cancer while the company was trying to get cheap heat on Ambrose. Even Dean was disgusted with that promo as he later revealed during an interview.

2 Randy Orton Bleeds As Part Of A Promotional Tactic

"The Beast Incarnate" Brock Lesnar gave a legit concussion to Randy Orton during their SummerSlam 2016 match. Even worse was the fact that this finish was preplanned by the company.

They wanted a bloody finish and use it as a promotional tactic. Lesnar repeatedly hit Orton's head with his elbow and the fact that it was scripted was very disgusting. A lot of fans raised their voice and Chris Jericho got into a fight with Brock backstage because of it.

1 Mike Kanellis Becomes Maria's Lapdog

Maria Kanellis' real-life pregnancy was used in a storyline in 2019. She revealed that Mike wasn't the father to her child, and stated that Ricochet was the real father. Later she admitted to lying and revealed that the real father to her child was actually Rusev.

This storyline could've been much better. But WWE didn't make good use out of Mike. He became his wife's lapdog and when the storyline didn't work, WWE dropped it without an explanation. The intent was to raise sympathy for him, but by the way that things played out, it was nothing but disgusting.
